<p>HI, i just wana ask if any of you guys know the different between Overall and Major GPA. When you transfer, which of the GPA they consider more? I have heard they concern about your Major GPA more, is that true?</p>

<p>That's not true. Your overall UC transferable gpa is most important; for some majors your major gpa is actually irrelevent, while in very competitive majors they will look at your grades in key classes closely.</p>
<p>For engineering and science/math related majors, your major GPA in sciences and math classes is more important than the overall GPA.</p>
<p>transferable gpa is important...if you are science/engineering major they will also look at your performance in those classes...so you can't do poorly on those and stock up on easy GEs</p>
<p>what if i did extremely well on a Pre cal class, but ace a Cal class, Will they consider it? Since Cal counts in to major class, but precal is just a Pre. class for Cal.</p>
