UCSB Admission - Class of 2022

Daughter is accepted into uscb, pre-chemistry at L&S college
She was also accepted to ucr, clemson, university of south carolina, KU
denied at ucsd, ucla
stats are 3.5 uwgpa, 4.1 wgpa, uc gpa is 3.87

I’d like to say ucr and ucsb are her top choices, but she’s been leaning towards clemson lately.

Accepted into UCSB! Does anyone know when CCS informs applicants of their decision? They said after admission results, but I am not sure when.

rejected. i’m crushed tbh. i had low stats but my essays literally were so personal and down to earth. my ec’s were amazing too. oos w/ an awful test score and gpa but i explained why in one of my essays i had a downfall. extremely upset because a girl in my school got accepted and constantly bragged about it lmao like gee thanks. this is tearing me apart

I got in! This is my second choice school after Berkeley (low chance at that lmao), so I am very excited to most likely be attending in the fall!!! Ooh admitted for pre-chemistry
Anyway stats:
ACT 28
SAT 1320
SAT II god awful lmao
Ten AP’s
Scores: 3 on chemistry, 3 on Spanish Lang (embarrassing because I speak Spanish fluently at home), 4 on AP World, 4 on AP Lang, 3 on APUSH (self-studied)
GPA 4.2 W
Rank: 30/800+
Essays: strong in my opinion
First Generation High School Grad and also College Student
Extracurriculars: I got the most extracurricular award at my school, so I would say I have done a lot and I have definitely had a huge impact on my community
Congrats to everyone admitted! Excited to get to know all of you and make friends

I am so sorry, hope you have luck at your other choice schools.

Congrats! Can you tell me where it indicates honors for your acceptance? Was it in the body of the email?

It should be stated under “Admitted Major” in the top box.

@calidreaming113 so sorry. I hope you get into another Cali school and rock it! It is always tough was someone gets into a school and you don’t. I haven’t told anyone at my school about any of my acceptances. It is such a stressful time for seniors.

I am declining and withdrawing applications as soon as I know I won’t be attending to help out my fellow class of 2022 get off waitlists.

@WaitingforGodot4 uci is my last hope and since i’ve been rejected from ucsb, theres no way… i’m oos and ugh i dont know what to do. i really want to go to california ://// i know i shouldnt take this rejection to heart but its hard not too when i worked sleepless nights on my essays.

Did anyone get into SB with an SAT below 1200?

@collegedreamer167 SAT 1180 540W/640M, Writing i forgot i think 5 2 5 or something, maybe lower idk i know i had a 2 in the middle & ACT composite score 24, Writing 8

@collegedreamer167 i don’t know how I got in (psychological and brain sciences major)

@calidreaming113 Good luck with UCI!! If it’s your dream, don’t give up. Some UCs have appeals. It is worth a shot. Pick the two most likely UCs to get into and check college confidential for more information of appealing at those UCs.

If you really want California, you can go the CC route. It would cost you much less for two years then you would have priority transfer status. Or attend your fav non-Cali school and transfer junior year. Good luck! This college application year was really tough.

Anyone down to make a groupme?

rejected - IS 32 ACT, 3.6 uw not sure what UC gpa was…

@collegedreamer167 not even that, which is why i’m still surprised. I took APUSH 1st semester junior yr and dropped it because I ended with a C and I knew I wouldn’t get any better. To redeem myself I took AP art history during the summer after jr yr and…got a C first half and dropped the second half (again lol) bc I hated the date/name memorization for it. In AP Lit and AP Calc rn. My HS GPAs 3.5UW/3.9W, CSU GPA 3.76 …I forgot my UC GPA

My first semester cumulative GPA (minus senior year) has been a 3.07 (only got 2 A’s out of 13 possible, mainly due to sickness and a technology error), but my 2nd sem has been pretty good (3.84, 11 A’s out of 13).

cdubs61, Those are good numbers – you might be able to survive UCSB’s ME program

@am013384 what were your test scores? ACT or SAT

Admitted to Pre-Biology. Does anyone know if and when they will send out admission emails?
