Thanks @SoCalDad2.
We are so anxious to get some sort of confirmation. Hopefully, we will know in a week.

Is it possible to get Honors or Regents and not get an invitation to the Reception? I have a 2280 and 3.96 UW.
I’m trying not to freak out, but it’s hard when all of my friends with similar stats are getting Regents from LA, Berkeley, and SB, and I haven’t heard anything…

@OASCLJV, I think you should send an e-mail to the admission to find out. Your STATs are good.
Good Luck!

Just got my invite in the mail! My hands are shaking oh my goodness. I’m from LA, stats: 3.7UW/4.1W, 2120 SAT, extensive ECs. I’ll probably be going to either the LA or the Irvine reception, so I’ll see you guys there!! :)

@oacljv I think on the admit thread there were people who ultimately got honors but were not invited to the reception but I’m not positive. I’m sure there are more invitations in the mail… Last week northern Cal got them and this week it will likely be mostly southern Cal. I’m still hoping for my other son.

are all LA invitations out? Someone from my school received one but I haven’t heard back

My niece got hers in the mail today! We live in Riverside County.

@bruin2018 Probably not. I first heard about SoCal invites coming out on March 1st, but everyone in my school began receiving them today (I live in the suburbs of LA) so they’re probably sending them out in waves. Give it a few more days!

my son got an invitation to Chancellor reception via the postal service today , but not an email… Does that still mean he is in and in Honors? It has all receptions listed, he is supposed to pick the one most convenient to him…

also, it’s not a dinner…program is at 1PM…is that different than what email invites say?

I got an invitation to the Chancellor reception via postal service today and I live in the LA vicinity

@socaldad2 I found my son’s Regents Scholar letter from 2012 and it was dated late February of that year, which was prior to the Chancellor’s Reception. It appears that you are right - the Regents Scholars have already been notified. While we were hoping for Regents for my daughter, we are happy that she got the Chancellor’s Invite, although without Regents, she probably will go elsewhere.

I’m not sure how i’m considered a top applicant o.O
4.13 UC GPA, 26 ACT, average extracurriculars.
I would think my stats are average? Unless they account for other factors too?

My son received the invite today and we live in Orange County. A little fyi…the envelope was really tweaked (either from its origin or from something that happened at the post office when the sorting was done) and that probably delayed its delivery (it was postmarked on Feb. 28th). Usually, everything from SB area arrives in a day (rather than 2 days and we know this because my son’s older brother is at UCSB). So hang in there LA/OC peeps, it may be a delivery problem.

I just got mine today and I live in Orange County. 4.37 GPA, 29 ACT, 1990 SAT, good-average ec.

Does the invitation mean acceptance?

I got one too. It didn’t say congratulations anywhere and my portal still says “Decision Pending.” Does this mean I’m in?

@bouncer @mcro14 It doesn’t directly say you’re in, but if you look up old collegeconfidential threads on this topic, you’ll see other people who’ve been to the reception say that they announce the attendees’ acceptance there!

Anyone who’s going to the San Jose event should tell us all about Subday afternoon, particularly whether all invitees have been admitted this year.
