I also received the USPS notification email today showing mail from UCSB Admissions. It appears to be a thin envelope. No idea what it may be.

@a2cbijiaohao did u also receive an email from UCSB?
Also, do we get an email update on chancellors invite or regents invite before we get a postal mail from UCSB? Or it’s just the postal mail?
Does anyone know if the invites for chancellors and regents all come out on the same day or if they’re mailed out at different times? And are they based on stats only?
I got mine right now. I am in Orange County
What even is the Chancellors? Is it a scholarship or is it like a likely letter?
Oh and for anyone wondering: I have a 1570 SAT with an 800 on both Math 2 and Chemistry. I have 4.0 UW and 4.7 W and my major was Computer Science
no email
Do we get any money towards chancellors? I know for regents, UCSB gives around 8k
Is it rolling or all released today?
@suave123 Did you guys get an invite?
I see an envelope from UCSB in my Usps informed delivery
@collegemom111111 I did
Our informed delivery doesn’t show anything from UCSB but there is “a mail piece for which we currently do not have an image”. Does anyone know why that happens sometimes?
does everyone that receives an invitation get into ucsb?
My daughter received hers today. We are in Orange County.
We had the same experience with my son two years ago. Yes, it does mean that you got into UCSB. You will not get an email or anything official. At the reception, they tell you that you have been admitted, but that you will not get anything officially until that same time as everyone else. Hope that helps!
@vpmom0808 can u pls tell what are the benefits of chancellors invite? In terms of money?
@Suave123 The Chancellor’s invite and money are not related. If you are getting money, that would be awarded separately. If you are awarded any merit money, you will be invited to this reception, too.
Last year we received the Regents scholarship letter (a thick letter-sized envelope saying “UCSB Regents Scholarship Program” on the outside) on Feb 16. It included the invite to the Chancellor’s receptions (which were held between March 3 and 18 in various locations). I don’t believe we heard about the reception before that and there was no advance email notification.
If you just receive the reception invite, think of it as a likely letter. Most people invited to/attending the reception will not be offered Regents scholarships.
I wonder if all in state letters have been mailed out and if it means you didn’t get one if it didn’t come in today’s mail. Any thoughts about if it comes in waves or all in a day?
