Forgive me if this a silly question that has been answered in depth somewhere else but I couldn't find anything on CC or on UCSB about this.
Since I was just invited into the honors program at the college of L&S I decided to do a little bit of research regarding various programs like this on the UCSB website. I found out about the 'College of Creative Studies' and by reading posts and information on CC and the website it sounds like a great program for people like me. Unfortunately I didn't even know it existed so I missed the application deadline (by a few months lol).
According to the website, you can transfer in as a UCSB student but my question is whether you have to wait till the ~February deadline. My understanding is that if I wanted to join this program, I would only start in sophomore year. From the posts I have been reading some people get research opportunities very early (like freshman) etc. I want to know whether enrolling at UCSB and trying to transfer into this program is worth it if I only make it in my second year.
I am just worried that I will join late and because I didn't take some prerequisite classes I will be behind and therefore not be able to do research with the professors in this program or something.
Thanks in advance for any responses. Btw I'm a physics major if that changes anything.

The website says
. The February date was for entering frosh. So I see no reason why you couldn’t apply the day you set foot on campus this Fall. In fact if I was in your shoes I’d call the CCS and ask if there is any way for an admitted student (eg. you) to apply now for CCS; the worst they can do is say no.

This is what UCSB’s website says:

“You may not change your major to a Creative Studies major unless the College of Creative Studies has notified you of acceptance. If you have been notified of acceptance to the College of Creative Studies, you may follow the “Change of Major Instructions” above. If you are interested in Creative Studies but have not yet been admitted to the College, you may contact them directly at (805) 893-4146 to learn about their admissions process.”
