These are my quick stats:
UC GPA: 4.17
GPA: 4.36
SATs: 1990

Guess I didn't make the cut. =/
I wonder, since you got yours later, if they mail out some earlier than others?
Is there still hope!?

imgoing2college: i think you have a good shot at getting the letter soon or maybe check your spam?

i got mine yesterday and my stats aren't too great:
UC GPA: 4.04
GPA: 3.80
SATs: 1720

Right...so if I got this email what would you say my chances are at UCLA?

I'm pulling around a 4.2 UC GPA and a 2140 SAT. No ELC though my school is some private college prep school that's pumping out kids to schools like Columbia and Duke this year so I'm around top 9% of my class. Think I have a decent shot at UCLA?

Just curious ... did anyone outside of the San Jose or LA area get this email?

I live in the Monterey Bay area...so yes

^^^
I'd put you in the San Jose group. Anyone from, say, Sacramento or San Diego?

An hour and a half south of San Jose is definitely not going to constitute as the "San Jose group" if you think they're emailing stuff to kids in that region. The farthest south you can put in that group is Gilroy.

I'm from Santa Barbara.

Did that hurt my chances?

And it's not in my spam.
Maybe I just didn't make it.

I'm going to check my status on the UCSB page, see if there's anything.

Snowc1b: I was thinking 2 1/2 hours south of LA was in the LA group. Just don't know how wide of a net was cast. Anyone else?

imgoing2college: If you have a 4.17 UC GPA and a 1990 I would almost guarantee you that you'll get in. I would put your chances at 99%. If they only targeted the top 10-15% of their applicant pool there's still another 40% or so that's going to get in and I'd put my money on it you're in there somewhere.

SoCalGal09: I just looked up the regions the UCs look at and they actually have San Jose as a part of the San Francisco Bay Area which is San Fran, Oakland, East Bay, and South Bay (San Jose/Silicon Valley). San Diego/Imperial is one of their groups as LA is their own group. My region is Monterey/San Benito/Santa Cruz.

Snowc1b:
Nice. I feel better now. Thank you! =)

@Snowc1b: just to make sure u don't take my word for it. the 10-15% is just my pure guess. but i'm pretty sure the invite was sent to only a small percentage of admitted applicants, not the application pool =).

only some of the invited students got into the honors program. i didn't :P

my stats were:
SAT: 1750
GPA: weighted probably 3.8 or something by the time i submitted my app
lame EC's
even now i still wonder how the heck i was one of the "highest achieving applicants" lol. the only thing that would make me unique was just that i went to schools in 3 countries during my high school years. my personal statement was full of funny grammars and awkward wordings xD..
