Ok…I got in UCSB chem engineering so far and still waiting for UCI with undeclared major… If i got accepted to UCI, which one should I go? please give some suggestion

You can't go wrong with an Anteater!

whatever you do, don't go to UCI. I live a couple minutes away, and there is nothing to do in Irvine. I spent a summer doing research on the campus, and it was complete hell. It has no personality to it whatsoever. Go to UCSB.

im in that same place..and i think UCSB is a better fit specially with the high std rumor NOT bieng true

I go to UCI and certainly am enjoying my time here. But I'm not gunna put down UCSB, I'm sure you could have a good college experience there too.

I don't think UCSB has an STD problem... however, I hear that 50% of the population has AIDS.

50% people in SB has aids...can't be...

of 50% of the population has AIDS it would be a national crisis, the actual study should the the STD rate is 6%

Armida ... if 50% of the student population having AIDS is not a problem to you then I would suggest moving as far away from where you are as possible.

UCSB Engineering programs are ranked higher than UCD and UCI. Also, a friend of mind who's a current graduate student here at UCSB told me that his EE undergrad is more on theory and less hands-on application compared to UCSB's undergrad program. He TA's for undergrad EE.

If you must go to SB... just don't have physical contact with students and hopefully that will keep ya safe :-).

UCSB's STD rate is lower than the national average...Hepha

^ hard to believe

sorry UCSBstud949, your wrong.

US News and World Report Top Engineering (Undergraduate):

University of CaliforniaBerkeley *

Univ. of CaliforniaLos Angeles * 3.7
Univ. of CaliforniaSan Diego *

University of CaliforniaDavis *

Univ. of CaliforniaSanta Barbara *

University of CaliforniaIrvine *

There is another list done by some independent institution which only put Berkeley and Davis on a list.

But yeh, ChemE is ranked at UCSB..might be the place for you, for me the reason to goto UCSB would be there Physics department..within 20 years that place is going to be amazing.

UCSB.

I spend a lot of time at UCI bc my bf is there. But at UCI there really isn't that much to do, and you really need a car to get anywhere. UCSB you don't really need a car, everything is closely located and it's very interactive.

too bad i got rejected by UCI, going UCSB for sure...
