What's the fastest public transportation to ucla?

UC Public Teleport Service.

airport…you can book two-three days in advance, hop on a plane, and be in LA in 30 mins. then you can ride public transport to UCLA…will save you about 30-90 mins of drive time, depending on the traffic

Isn’t flying expensive?

The only way that you can use public transportation from UCSB to UCLA, is to take the Amtrak at the Goleta station, which isn’t too far from UCSB, and take it to Union Station in Downtown LA (It’s about a 2 hour train ride, but not bad at all). Then from there, take the Metro Red or Purple Line (subway) to Wilshire/Vermont or Wilshire/Western (it’s best to take the next bus at one of these two, because they are the least confusing stations), and take the Metro Rapid 720 to Westwood. Done. I have to do this everyday (minus the Amtrak ride), so if you have any question feel free to ask. (:

Airbus can get you to LAX, if someone can pick you up there. Otherwise probably not very convenient.

IMO, you should try carpooling.

I’ve used Craigslist rideshare before, with no problems.

Carpooling was always cheaper than buying Amtrak tickets.
