Ok so my freshman year wasn't great at all. I recieved a d in the first semester in french and 2 other d's in fashion and p.e. Freshman year was better but not spectacular and now i have a pathetic 3.48 unweighted gpa. In addition to this, I was not even on the track to a UC according to my classes( eventhough I informed my counselor I would like to go to a UNi), so I had to take Summer classes and I probably will next summer as well. Junior year just started and I am only in two ap classes and one honors course. I feel very discouraged because I am not competitive at all. Most of the college-bound kids in my class have all ap and honors classes this year and a couple from the years before, whereas I am only taking two(I signed up for more but they were cancelled). My extracurriculars aren't that great either. I have been in key club for 2 years and the breast cancer awareness club. Next year all my classes turn into ap classes, but will colleges even care about senior year? I feel like taking all those would be pointless if colleges do not care about senior. I really want to go to a UC but i was terribly misguided in what classes to take as a freshman and sophomore and school has already been in session for a month! Is it too late to take community college classes and is it even worth it, or do I have absolutely no chance at any UC.

If you’re willing to go to UC Riverside or Merced (Santa Cruz or Santa Barbara, let alone Irvine, are reaches pending a SAT/ACT score) then you might have a chance.
