Hey guys, so I think a lot of us are going to be deciding between UCSB or UCSD. I know I am. At first I was DEAD seat on UCSD over UCSB but after doing research I am completely swayed the opposite way!

It would be cool if we could all list the pros/cons we KNOW of and ask questions to other CC students. Don't write something as fact unless you guys can back it up- people take your word for it most of the time!

For example, I am a young mother and at first thought UCSD would be the place because there is less going on. But after research, although UCSB has an undeniable reputation for partying, they have GREAT opportunities for parents. For example, UCSB lets you apply to register for classes early if you are a single parent (since we have to get them all in earlier in the day).

UCSB also has a smaller student : professor ratio and overall slightly smaller classes.

The schools seem almost neck & neck academically (especially for my Sociology major) that it seems like other things are going to have to be the deciding factors.
