My friend got in with a SAT of 990 and a 3.8 gpa
@johnny756 did they get in today? My portal is still the same…
Anyone heard anything today?
@johnny756 SAT = 990! Are you sure? That blows my mind… @Moises I understand your feelings of ‘upset’ I’m right there with you!
I just called admissions and was told we can “hopefully” expect more news by the end of the month. They are going to try not to let it go into June…
Thank you for calling! All news is appreciated! @dood523
Berkeley is supposed to release another wave this week, so maybe the people at UCSB are waiting on additional drops from UCB admits.
Did anyone that called get any intel if still being a waitlist applicant a good sign? I saw a post on reddit and one person said that it’s a good sign and the another person said the opposite.
@WinstonZayne where’d you get that info from. And can u send the link?
They didn’t say that it wasnt a good sign, they just said not to get our hopes up. After all, we haven’t been denied yet which is the best state to be in at this point. I think there just simply isnt enough space to send out a wave of acceptances yet
If any admissions officers at UCSB are reading this, it would be greatly appreciated if those of us on the waitlist were accepted to attend UCSB next year as freshmen.
We will all work very hard to make UCSB an even better University to attend.
We spread kindness and joy, and will never complain about Extravaganza line up, or complain about the Housing website.
Thank you.
Just curious, where are you all committed to?
UC Davis. And you?
@HopefulOne2000 UC Davis as well!
After going through this thread again it appears 1 single person has gotten off the waitlist, does anyone known of any other people perhaps outside this thread who have gotten off the waitlist?
I haven’t heard of anyone. Only rejections.
@WinstonZayne i called the admissions office yesterday and they’ve only let 2 people off the waitlist and denied most. she said there are only a few hundred left on the waitlist, the issue is that they don’t have any space.
Those two were probably both in the college of engineering since the only person on here that got in is going to engineering. Hopefully we will hear some news this week, maybe when UC davis and UCSD release their waitlists more spots will open up.
I actually just met someone today who said they were accepted off the waitlist at UCSB a few weeks ago but decided not to attend.
@marinstudent so based off your phone call it seems unlikely that those of us still on the waitlist will be admitted? Even on down years UCSB has accepted ~250 students off the waitlist
