UCSC Fall 2016 Transfer Tread

I was notified on the 17th. @bolognese

Don’t worry! I literally just spent the last hour reading through last year’s ucsc transfer threads and people were getting acceptances up until the last week of April, so there is still plenty of time! I feel like mine just came out so quickly because of my TAG. I am in the same boat with UCSB right now though, I know the waiting sucks :frowning:

I know some current UCSC students and they are all in different housing (two in on-campus housing, four living off-campus in houses, three living off-campus in an apartment, one living in campus-owned but off-campus housing) and they’re sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and in different areas of study. If you guys have any questions I can try to ask them for you.

@futureeechick I’ll be there. I think I’m registered for the week after next

CA transfer if you could ask them if UCSC provides a one bed one bath single person only apartment?

Guys, check your portals!!! I just got admitted today! I guess they update every Thursday because I checked last night and nothing! This morning it said Congrats!

Here my stats,

GPA: 3.32 (Updated again on Feb so don’t know if that was taken into account. So 3.38?)

Major: Econ

Pre-Reqs: Completed

Igetc: will be done by Spring.

Applied:CSULB, SJSU, UCSC, UCSB, UCD, UCSD.

Accepted: CSULB, SJSU, UCSC.

Woooooooooo congrats plasmid!

But still pending

@BlackPlasma Congratulations! I’m glad a UC finally got back to you.

Pending af

Got in today!
Major:Neuroscience
GPA:3:15
TAG: no
Igetc: have one more class and then finished.
Applied to: UCD (hasn’t released app status yet), UCSC (got in!)

The funny thing is, is that I actually applied to to neuroscience for Santa Cruz but applied for a different major (Physics…long story) for Davis and since Davis is the school I primarily want to go to I wrote the essays centered around Physics…and still got into UCSC. Meaning they really didn’t review my essays. Which can be good or bad depending on if you spent a lot of time on them but I thought it was very interesting! Good luck to anyone else!

UCSC doesn’t read essays. Maybe you’re just an ideal candidate in all your other areas of school

CONGRATS @BlackPlasma !

still pending

I heard back this morning. Got in. I had already tagged for comp sci though so I wasn’t too surprised, just surprised I didn’t find out on the 17th.

I haven’t seen any psych transfers get accepted yet. On last year’s thread there were already people getting notifications. My overall UC GPA is 3.51 but statistics is in progress. I hope I hear news soon! It seems like mostly sciences and econ have been getting news.

@VanessaNuno Does it say the word pending on the page?

@uchopeful414 yes i have heard that, along with Davis, but I didnt know they just like totally skipped over them! I figured they would at least like glance at them, lol. I noticed youre on the Davis thread as well! And yep I guess I was! I actually have no idea what the prereqs for neuroscience are for UCSC, I really want to go to Davis so I didnt even look at what UCSC is looking for…guess I took the right classes!

Davis is going to be my first choice if I get in. I love the animals and what not. My major is psych but I want to get into the Davis graduate program for animal behaviorism I also want to get out of southern ca. As far as Santa Cruz, I wanted to go now I’m not inclined to deny my offer if they do admit me

Accepted!

Major: Computer Science, B.A.
GPA: 3.87 (4.0 in CS classes)
IGETC: Yes*
TAG: No
ECs: Not many
Major Requirements: Completed all the ‘foundation courses’ listed on Assist. Didn’t have any CC courses available for systems/asm

  • I'm still freaking out about my IGETC certification, despite my counselors telling me it's ok. I used several courses from a 4 year to satisfy IGETC reqs. I've communicated with someone in the district who processes external transcripts for equivalencies -- and they told me I should be fine -- but I can't shake the anxiety. I wish there was a way to get pre-certified to clear up the ambiguity in my case.

@appliedtocollege it just says UC santa cruz has received your application! Ugh! So annoying, all this waiting.

Btw, youll know if they have a response for you when you press on “Application Status and Info” and there is a third new option to press instead of two.
