Hello everyone, I need to advice and thoughts.
Currently I plan on transferring to UCSC in Fall 2014. The amount of credits to put in is a minimum of 30 credits minimum along with a 3.0 GPA. This september is the deadline for putting in transfer requests in for fall 2014. (you have to complete 60 credits by spring 2013)

In my situation I will have 26 credits along with a 3.1 GPA. I talked to my counselor and he told me basically that I could talk to the transfer counselor to see if they could pull some strings to allow me to apply. Is there a chance that I will get in by fall 2014? Please help this is my dream school!

TAG usually isn’t subjective… either you meet the requirements or you don’t. The exception would be Baskins and other impacted majors, and in those cases TAG is more trouble than it’s worth. Generally speaking though, if you don’t meet the requirements you can’t TAG…

Of course, there’s not harm in trying. Also, remember that you don’t need TAG to get accepted… even if they deny it, apply during normal admission (with 60+ units planned/completed) and you’ll still have a chance!

Is it possible to apply with 26 credits?

Powayboy you can apply with 26 units, but unless you complete 16 units in the fall and plan to complete 18 units in the spring and have proven your ability to be able to do that before then you will more than likely be rejected, but you cannot TAG with only 26 units, only apply for admission.
