UCSC winter transfers

Yeah, thanks. I’m in the same status.

I have a feeling that the admissions office has a bot answering emails. Last night I sent them a question, and the answer I got is totally unrelated (not even close.)

Did anyone else see ‘Statement of Legal Residence’ as ‘required’ under their to-do list right after submitting your SIR? Or does it say completed?

completed for me

Mine also says completed.

hmm… I had to email my Statement of Legal Residence to them last week since they needed more information. =O My financial aid award is up though! check yours :D

Yeah, thanks for the heads up voyager! My financial aid award is up, also, and it’s looking good! REAL good! :D

I hate posting after myself, but it wouldn’t let me save the edit I typed since I pressed save RIGHT after 20 minutes were up.

How’d everyone do? You don’t have to share amounts if you’d rather not. I was offered a Pell Grant, UCSC Grant, UCSC Fee Grant, Federal Direct Subsidized Loan, and Federal Work-Study. I should have a CalGrant coming my way too, but that’s not listed (I have to change the school they have on file at the end of this semester). I’ve accepted everything except the loan, since (at first glance at least) it looks like I won’t need it. But I can always accept it later if the need arises, I guess.

Here’s a worksheet you can use to see where you’ll stand as far as tuition (i.e. if you need to pay more, or if you’ll get money back). Warning: PDF file.

And “Important Next Steps” to receive the aid you have accepted (this includes the previous worksheet):

Hope you guys find these helpful, because I have! :)

[edit] Does anyone know when we find out about UC scholarships? If it’s supposed to be listed with the rest of our financial aid already, then I didn’t get any. The Guide to F/A above implies it comes later. Did anyone have a UC scholarship listed in their financial aid awards?

hey guys have fun at santa cruz, dont turn into this:

LOL *** is she on???

She’s just dumb enough to be an economist for the government.

Anyone else still waiting to see their financial aid award?

Yeah I’m still waiting… hopefully we will get it tommorow

Thought I’d take this moment to remind everyone who hasn’t yet, to join up!

I wonder how many transfers actually got in for the Winter quarter? I mean with the budget cuts, I wouldn’t think too many people would be allowed in but maybe I’m wrong?

As of 10/01/2009:

"How many transfer applications did you receive this year?
894.

How many junior transfers did you offer admission to this year?
To date, we have admitted 441 students.

How many transfers did you deny admission to this year?
To date, 164 students have been denied admission."

Maybe someone has a more up to date version, but this was the only one I knew of offhand. UCSC’s target enrollment for Winter 2010 is 250 students.

Updated financial aid award numbers have been posted on MyUCSC. These are the numbers that reflect what your financial aid award will be IF the proposed fee increase passes on Nov. 19th. Be sure to accept what you accepted before, if you already accepted (even though it’ll already say you’ve accepted the aid. Not sure how necessary this is, but I did it anyway, just to follow the directions in the email step-by-step).

Also, thanks for posting that link, Kender! :]

Has anyone else not received their financial aid award yet? I thought for sure I would of heard something last week, all things in my to do list were completed.

Hey, Nate. Try calling the financial aid office. I just talked to one of the advisers and she noticed something was wrong with my status. She fixed it and I should see my financial aid award in a few days.

Ty tangent, called and got my reward today!
