When is a good time to start looking at apartments and Then signing a lease? During summer so lease expires next summer? Please be specific. Never done this before.

You’re not living on campus?

Na gonna get an apartment with some homiez

Gotcha. I’m doing Village if I get in.

Nobody can answer? What’s village

The Village = on campus transfer apartments.

Same here. Gonna live @ village, UCSD… if I get rejected from UCLA

the village sucks balls. Its identical to any of the apartments offcampus. The only differences is the lower quality of the transfer building. Yeah it looks good on the website, but dont let it trick you. See that comfy green couch that they always show? its hard as a rock. The halls have concrete flooring and everything is falling apart. Its twice as expensive and twice as bad. Its even ridiculously far from campus.

What? I visited The Village and have some friends who live there. It’s brand new, not falling apart, and I was pleased overall. And yeah, it’s on the very north side of campus, but less than a mile to class. UCLA is probably just as far of a walk, if nor further, to the dorms.

Yeah, it’s pretty expensive, but that’s really the only negative.

Can anybody answer my question?

Honestly, I’d start looking for an ideal place ASAP. I was told that you should put your name down at least two months before the actual date you want to move in. I’m gonna start looking after I hear from UCLA, so let me know, cause I’m looking for potential roomates, also.

this looks like a good website to start at: [UCSD Commuter Services](http://offcampushousing.ucsd.edu/)

who’s looking for roommates @ the village? if UCLA and UNC crap out on me i’m there.

If I get in, I’m definitely doing Village, but it’ll be a solo room. I’m 22, so I’m not sharing a room anymore But I’m cool with sharing a two/three bedroom apartment.

I’m still deciding what to do about the living situation as well. I just got a little booklet from The Village in the mail today so that started making me lean towards living there more… Oh and thanks kissingurami for that link!

If you’re in the area I’d go and visit it. That’s what sealed it for me.

Ya, I will definitely have to go check it out, but it’s a nice 5 hour drive. Hopefully I can make it to Transfer Admit day and then I can check them out.

i know but w t f the prices @ the village!

Ouch, yeah I live 20 minute away so it’s not bad.

And yes, the Village prices are absolutely ridiculous.

Lol Grimes, I’m looking to do the same thing. I just wish they had singles in the tower @ the village.
