Davis wants higher yield so a lot of high stat people are wait listed/rejected
@utkdxb I’m an international student too and with the exception of one I think most of my the kids at my school who applied got in (At least that I know of) I’ve completely given up hope and taken this as rejection.
Hopefully Irvine and Santa Barbara come thru (and UCLA/UCB if your stats are high enough) @pleaseacceptme99
I’ll freak out if UCLA decides to do a rolling admission as well hahaha I don’t think I could handle it
@thejappster I’d love to get into UCLA but I received a supplemental from them and I don’t think I had anything strong enough to put me over the borderline hump
Are you URM or nah? @pleaseacceptme99
Honestly though, one thing I take away from today is that stats aren’t everything and anything can happen (looking at you Davis)
@thejappster yes I’m URM. Technically I’m able to put Hispanic because my grandparents were from Spain.
@stupefy13 I feel the same. There’s only one more person I know of from my school who applied and he got in. Sigh. I was gonna tell everyone to take a chill pill, but now that I know that my friend got in, I’m beginning to get worried myself lol
@utkdxb Yeah I’d really like to be optimistic and hope that maybe its being released in batches but the fact that nobody has received rejection or waitlisted is a bit disconcerting. I’m trying to hold out hope but at this point I feel like it would be easier to just accept that is a rejection.
Has anyone gotten the acceptance email? I haven’t received it.
@utkdxb I’m an international applicant and I got in but to my alternate major. Good luck!
did anyone get into Mechanical Engineering and/or Aerospace Engineering majors?? If so what were your stats???
@lolonimous I got in with a 4.2 GPA (capped), 4.5 GPA (uncapped) and a 35 ACT.
Did any body get into Bioengineering?
@Proliarix that was my first choice major but I got admitted to my alternate and not bioeng. My alternate was biology with a specialization in bioinformatics.
Hi. Im from New Jersey.
I applied for a science major, Human Biology, but I still have the March 30 letter. does this mean that Im either waitlisted or denied?
And people who got accepted, did u guys also get a email from the school?
@stupefy13 Ditto
@mash97 That’s wonderful! And thanks
Got in!!
@ everyone in this thread: stop throwing speculations around when you are uninformed.
Yes, there were rejections yesterday. Yes, non-STEM majors were accepted yesterday. CC is not a good sample size, there seem to be a lot of STEM people and not a lot of everyone else. There are plenty of high-stats people with the March 30th message. Since SD isn’t weird like Davis, there will most likely be more acceptances.
I firmly believe that the admissions office is actually telling the truth - there are batches with mixed results, and we will just have to wait.
