That make sense. So UCSD has great med programs and the surroundings are beautiful huh? I also heard from my friends that UCSD is known to be UC socially dead. Is that because so many people are concentrating on med. educations?
@johnm2020 right but all the UCI kids who received after the first batch were rejected no?
@wholikestostudy As far as I’m concerned, I’ve learned that UCs make their decisions independent. One school could really like your app way more than the other. So don’t sweat it!
^ I heard that they were all rejected/wait-listed.
@velouria hoping for the best!! thanks
@mij221 did they tell them there were acceptances coming??
@wholikestostudy most of them got rejected but not all of them.
@freakingout98 I never really saw any acceptances for 2014 UC irvine. It was Acceptances -> Rejectances -> wait-lists I believe? Not really sure.
@JohnM2020 how do you know?
Has anyone called UCSD regarding releasing admission information? I’ll go ahead and do that if no one else has
@honcho some people have but they’ve just been giving the official line of “decisions will be released by the 30.” They don’t know whether there are more acceptances to come. If you can get more information out of them that would be nice, but it is not likely.
@mij221 but ucsd has been telling us more acceptances are coming. Should we believe them or did UCI do the same thing and not give any acceptances?
UCI did the same thing. That’s why people are so stressing about it right now. People are not giving up their hopes at this point since the admissions literally told them there are more decisions coming out in a rolling basis which may be true or maybe not. Who knows? :-?
@honcho if you want to go ahead and call admissions though, you can!
Did anyone ask for numbers?–how many people have been accepted?
@freakingout98 I checked their college confidential page for 2014. Most of the results are rejections and a few acceptances and they announced at the end of the month.
I called admissions today.
They said that not all acceptances have been sent out yet.
I would almost be pleased with at the very least a thorough explanation of why UCSD, or any college for that matter, puts applicants through such a stressful process like this one, and not, like UCD, simply release all decisions in a day. For some reason I’m inclined to believe there’s more to it than just the amount of applicants, but I could be wrong, and it would put me at ease if the university themselves actually gave us insight!
I don’t think anyone has asked about admissions numbers yet- I’m in class so if anyone else can do that that would be awesome
@tennis7cowboys People do not want to believe that UCSD is acting such behavior without any purposes. They are freaking out since what UCSD is doing right now is very similar to that of what UC irvine did in 2014.
