See here’s another reason why I don’t believe more people are getting in. People who got their portals updated are now getting admissions packages in the mail. Are those random too? Why bother coordinating random application updates to specific admissions packages?
My friends from UCSD said the first patch are mostly all accepted and the March 30th are still under review now. There will be more acceptance coming
@angiepie I see your point. I am settled down with UCSD decision at this point. It is impossible that UCSD sent out packages before all the acceptances are made. I am just annoyed how they don’t post rejection/waitlist.
@deepblueocean but at the same time, there is a gut feeling in me that tells me there’s still more coming and they are not done yet. Honestly, I think they are still making decisions. I know too many people with spectacular stats that are still waiting. Perhaps those accepted on the 11th were the “for-sure” and they had some spark that made them stand out. If they would have rejected us, wouldn’t they have? (or maybe they are slowly making us loose hope so we won’t be surprised at a waitlist/rejection) I think they had an overwhelming number of applicants and maybe they were not prepared in time and just released some because they predicted “mid-march.” All in all, we still have a chance unless our portal says rejected

@sarale I love your optimism It’s just me, who has problem with waiting. I can’t even wait to see the endings of novels, so I just read the endings of them before I even start reading those books. Hahaha, and I have received so many rejections (jobs, NHS, colleges, etc.), so I am just anxious about everything.

Are people really speculating whether or not the rest of us are rejects/waitlists? Someone already called admissions and they confirmed that there are still acceptances left.
@emily2636 A paper congratulating you of your admission, A do-it-yourself Triton God construction popup thing, a paper reminding you about triton day. It all came in an elegant blue and gold envelope. I can tell UCSD spent lots of time on it.
Even though it seemed like it was forever, it is still considered mid-March. UCSD did say approximately mid-March, and we are in the last week of mid-March. I say the next valid time is this Friday (possibly the weekend, but their admissions offices are closed).
Unfortunately, UCSD also said in our portals that we will find out by March 30th. Ugh, so if it’s not this Friday it could be until March 30th.
@honcho the problem is that uci did the exact thing for the class of 2018. They said acceptances were coming but everyone not in the first wave was wait-listed/rejected.That’s why so many people(including me) are freaking out about if more acceptances are coming or if its a lie.
I believe that UCSD is just really overwhelmed by the sheer amount of applications they received and weren’t at all prepared to give everyone a decision on the 11. I’m sure that there are more acceptances to come, especially because there were definitely rejections sent out on the 11 as well

i find this too original and funny that the past 263 pages of posts have been about the EXACT same thing and comments LOL. Just wait guys decision will come out!!
@freakingout98 Just checked the 2018 UCI class thread, while it does seem that there were a lot more rejections and waitlists in the latter waves, there were a good amount of acceptances as well. I speculate that UCSD wanted to get the "for sure"s out of the way (people who they know deserve acceptance or rejection), and are releasing the iffy ones later.
