Received a call at around 6:13 P.M today (March 7)! I had a pretty bad SAT score (CR: 560, Math: 590, Writing: 530), and was accepted as a Computer Engineering major!!! First gen student

@kuidaore Wait a minute, I got a call from an unknown caller ID a few days ago, I think last Friday! Ugh I didn’t answer it because I didn’t have my phone on me. Now I can only wonder whether it really was ucsd or nah.
To be fair, could have been telemarketers, been getting a lot of those recently
@kuidaore Do you think the event is for all admitted students? My friend just got the call and the caller (a student) said it was for 3 days and 2 nights sometime in April or so.
@elefish92 my other top choice is George Washington University but I won’t hear back from them for another week or two. What other schools are you waiting to hear back from?
But yes I know what you guys mean about being anxious when calls come up. I’m definitely not expecting a call but I work in the area and so whenever I get a call from the office I get really excited but it is never UCSD. lol.
I was looking at other threads, and there’s a possibility that the call may be random. They’re (alumni and faculty I think) are just calling as many people as possible because that increases matriculation rates. But I just read all of it through threads and not a legit source

^^ Same. I haven’t got anything from UCSD (No calls so far, or invitation) but I did get the VIP tour email a month ago… Come on UCSD give me a sign.

@jackisawesome I’m in the Riverside County. Its like 55 miles east of LA and 100 miles northeast of SD. I srsly don’t even think I am a competitive candidate for UCSD, idk how I got the email.

Hello! So I received a 858 call around 6:58 and sadly missed it. I googled the number and discovered it was an admissions member! I tried calling back around 9 and it went to voicemail. I’m just clarifying because I am kind of freaking out, but did they probably call to congratulate me? Like, would they call this early just to tell me I was rejected? Also, should I call back in the morning to confirm? (My stats are pretty poor, but I did submit a supplemental questionnaire.)
Just got the acceptance call today!
