@chubii oh yes, I have all the standard stuff like the confirmation, portal info, etc. but since the portal info I have not received anything Iām on the east coast if that even means anything.
So I think the reception email definitely means your accepted. Since we formally find out our admission decision in 3 days, they arenāt going to invite rejected students to the reception event. Makes sense.
Yeah, if you have received any special reception invitation youāre in.
I live in the San Diego area and havenāt received anything either. Iām getting increasingly more nervous as decision day draws near because of that. Iām hoping for an acceptance but Iām starting to prepare for a waitlist/rejection.
Even though most people wonāt receive calls/invitations/whatever itās still difficult to keep that in mind when it seems like everyone here is getting something! lol
Hope everyone gets what they desire! UCSDās been my top school for a while, but Iām definitely preparing myself for the worst - Iām more than aware of UCās erratic admission decisions. Canāt wait to finally hear back, whatever the decision is, and have this weight lifted off my shoulders. :]
usually what kind of admits will receive those reception invitation?
The wording on my portal changed from āWe are thrilled you have applied to UCSDā to āThank you for applying to UCSDā
I received a call, but I have no received a reception email. Interesting.
@wilddaffodils The wording also changed on my portal!
@newapplicant Iām not exactly sure but I was thinking it could be the same criteria for the calling campaign. I got it and Iām not in the top 30% (I think??) but I am a URM, soā¦
Same @wilddaffodils @kuidaore
They changed on my portal too but I didnāt get a call or email!
Honestly, Iām flipping out. I donāt know what to do! I got the supplemental request, but havenāt received a phone call or an email invite or a mail invite to that dinner. I really love UCSD and if I donāt get into UCLA, I was really hoping I could go there. Does anyone know any info about the stats of those that received the email/dinner invites?
@treehugger505 Me too
@jackisawesome I wouldnāt worry too much about not receiving anything. A good friend of mine with a 4.something GPA, a 2380 SAT, and numerous 800s on subject tests hasnāt gotten any phone calls or anything from them either.
The wording on my portal also changed. Can anyone who got a call/postcard/VIP tour invite/whatever report back on what their portal says now?
Iām hoping I will be called anytime this week even though admission decisions are soon coming. I want to know early too. Good luck to the people who havenāt yet received the reception email.
soooo did everyoneās portal change? bc I didnāt get any calls or emails either but mine changed.
Finally got the call from UCSD following the postcardā¦probably not regents thoughā¦
if your parents had āsome collegeā, do you count as a first generation college student?
