UCSD Class of 2020 Discussion

I have access too. Yet, I have been accepted already soo

@AlexG2016 , @happywaterbottle -how did you find out you are accepted? and what reception in LA is someone else talking about?

@crockmom I was called by a faculty member.

I have access

stats: 3.79 GPA 32 act

@crockmom There were emails sent to select applicants (admits most likely) based on their geographical location to attend a reception at a Marriot Hotel. The reception for LA is the 12th of March.

@AlexG2016 What is your stats?

Did anyone get accepted but did not receive an invite to attend a reception ?

So I’ve heard that UCSD has been giving phone calls to a select few regarding admission. I’ve also heard that others have heard responses already.

Anyone know an actual release date of the admits for UCSD, as in a set date?

Also would appreciate a “Chance me” while you guys are at it

Stats:

  • Current Class Rank 25/366
  • ACT (plus writing): 34
  • SAT II Math II: 730
  • SAT II Bio E: 650
  • GPA: (UC weighted GPA): 4.18 (UC Unweighted): 3.82

EC (By senior year predictions):

  • 3 years swim (2 years varsity)
  • Founder of History Club (and president therefore)

My major is Biology w/ bioinformatics. Alternate is some other form of bio. Also, does UCSD even consider Alt. Majors?

I have access as well but I have already been admitted via the early calling campaign. If everyone can see it though, it makes me think it doesn’t mean anything and is just a fluke.

@IBGuy101 is there only one reception? No other reception in other areas?

I read online that there is a reception in Manhattan beach California !

@knguyen1297
SAT: 1800
UW GPA: 4.0
W GPA: 4.1
UC W GPA: 4.15
Plethora of ECs
-Debate tournament champion at PLU
-President/Founder of my former school’s Debate club
-Other clubs
-NHS
-Spanish National Honor Society
-California Student Federation
-Hundreds of hours of community service
-Multiple Varsity sports

  • and so on
    Essays were top-notch
Application was unique because I was originally a homeschooler who transitioned into the schooling system
Came from a small private school where there was little opportunity so I had to do everything possible to take advantage of anything offered to me.

-Hope that helped!

is anyone not seeing housing? although even though everyone here has it it could mean nothing. everyone posting looks really qualified, this is a pretty biased test group of high achievers, and can’t really prove anything about the majority.

still very distracted by this

Also, was anyone invited to the Riverside reception for the 20th?

Like others, I can do all the housing stuff and can see my ucsd email (sick!)

@AlexG2016 I have somewhat similar stats and maybe weaker EC. My school is VERY competitive (80% Asians) so only one kid from got a call from them so far, but he already got accepted to Stanford with full ride sometimes in December. Sigh. I guess I have to wait until Weds.

My d received a call that she was admitted about a week ago. Then last night she received a call that she is a Regents scholar. She never received any invite to VIP tour or reception. Hard to figure their process out!! - but we’re happy!

So what day are you guys assuming that decisions will come out ?

Is there any proof (not from CC forums) that being able to access your email is only available to those admitted? Creating my Davis portal today basically had a generated email and student ID number for me, so I would think that it’s pretty standard across UCs??

@nainakajol I keep seeing this Friday popping up. I hope it is this Friday because I can’t wait anymore.
