that makes sense. Warren also has few GE's and lot of engineering majors.

no, i actually think (am preety sure) that the colleges have nothing to do w/ majors. they are just supposed to be communities to meet the needs of specific students.

yes, your major does not depend on the college you are attenting but many poeple who are getting majors in engineering are in warren because of the low amount of ge's required.

ok i see what you mean

hmm MetaIV are u in the honors program or something or do they send out that email to every accepted person saying "you are one of the top applicats" lol

They did not say anything about being in the Honors program so i am probably not in it. But, did anybody else receive this email from the Jacobs school of engineering?

i thought muir had the easiest overall, but for your major, marshall probably is a better fit

why do u say marshall is a better fit 4 me. do u know stuff about marshall besides the community service thingy

To satisfy Muir's General Education requirements you must complete 4 yearlong sequences from 4 different areas. One sequence must be from the social sciences. One sequence must be from the mathematics "or" natural sciences area. The remaining two sequences must come from 2 of the following 3 areas: fine arts, humanities or foreign language.

Does one course = one quarter

Warren
WRITING: Two writing courses (Warren Writing 10A and Warren Writing 10B). Note: Both writing courses must be taken at UCSD for letter grade only.

FORMAL SKILLS: Two course in calculus, symbolic logic, computer programming and/or statistics from the following which may overlap with your lower division major courses:

ETHIC & SOCIETY: One course - PHIL 27 or POLI 27 (same course offering, cross-listed; must be take at UCSD for letter grade only; may not overlap with any other requirement).

TWO NON-CONTINGUOUS PROGRAMS OF CONCENTRATION OR AREA STUDIES:

Program of Concentration (PofC): Two Programs of Concentration (PofC) are required. Each must contain six 4-unit courses (total of 24 units), at least three of which must be upper division (100-199). NO overlap is allowed in the upper-division courses. Note: Both PofCs must be unrelated to the major and unrelated to each other.
Students pursuing B.S. majoring in Biology, Chemistry, Cognitive Science, Earth Sciences, Management Science, Physics and Psychology are required to complete two PofCs.

OR

Area Studies (A/S): For B.S. in Engineering only. Two Area Studies are required. Each must contain three 4-unit courses (total of 12 units), at least one of which must be upper division. Note: Both A/S must be unrelated to the major and to each other.
A Departmental Minor may be used in lieu of a Program of Concentration/Area Study. The minor(s) must be noncontiguous to the major, and must meet the College's rule on non-contiguity and non-overlap. See Minor Department for specific requirements.

CULTURAL DIVERSITY IN U.S. SOCIETY: one course with content of cultural diversity within the U.S. is required to graduate and may overlap with any other requirements to include the major, Programs of Concentration, Area Studies, or Minor.

here is a better site
http://www. ucsd.edu/catalog/ChooGrRe.html

so MetaIV do u think you'll head 4 ucsd or ucla

At the moment, I think i am going to go to SD. But it could change, after recieving LA's early pre-acceptance letter I was 50/ 50 but i have wanted to go to SD and now that i know i am in i am probably 80/20.

I got that email too. I think they sent it out to all the EE, CE, and physics engineering majors.

ok, so it is probably nothing special.

which one did you apply for? and in what college?

do you know why they only sent that email to computer, electrical, and physics engineering majors? is bioengineering not under the jacobs school of engineering?? or what about structural engineering?(that's the major i was accepted for)

i know that structural and bioengineering are in the Jacobs school of engineering, i would assume that all engineering is there unless some very specialized program is located somewhere else.

here is the Jacobs school site.
http://www.jacobsschool.ucsd.edu/#

computer, electrical, and physics engineering majors are all in the ECE department, probably why only those poeple got the email.

my friend who also applied for bioengineering also didn't get the email that MetaIV got. so i think its for some specific types of engineering
