@calbear2016fall @themightybicycle What do they look for in students for regents? All I see is that it’s academic/merit-based and I thought I had a pretty good GPA and I’m academically involved.
Has anyone heard from the admissions office today?
I heard back on Saturday morning, they sent me an email. One of my friends got an email on Sunday morning. Theirs was a film related major. But one of my other friends, who is an english major hasn’t heard back yet. I wasn’t expecting a decision this early, so the email was a real shock.
I got accepted into Eleanor Roosevelt.
GPA: 3.9
Major: Philosophy
Applied: All UCs except Merced. UIUC. USC. NYU. Cornell. UVA
Admitted: UIUC. UCSD.
Igetc: finished last quarter.
Tag: with UCI
@sbrapunzel I’m wondering too. I got my acceptance but I don’t see anything for Regents. I was really hoping for it considering I have a 4.0 and a ton of ECs.
Oh wow, right on with the minor in math, haha! That’s pretty rad. I also TAGged Davis, but besides that, I applied to every UC except merced and riverside. Santa Cruz is nice just because they release their decisions all on one day and they actually give you a time…I’m looking at you UCSD.

Chance me?
@LopApo hi, i applied as structural engineering and also saw that several got in for first batch. Both of the ones that got in for that batch had extremely low GPAs… are you confused by this too?
@justin7473 Yup, they had pretty low GPAs. I don’t really know much about structural engineering but I think that it is also an impacted major at UCSD. I mean, the first person didn’t even complete all of the pre-reqs.
@POTUS2040 Yeah, my UC GPA is a 3.95 and I’m in two scholarly clubs. Do you think they would give out acceptances and then update later with regent statuses? I saw that it said regents will be given out until May.
I emailed UCSD on Friday and asked if their first batch was only that same day, or if it will continue on. They responded today:
"Hello -----:
Notifications will keep being sent throughout the month of March. Please keep checking MyApplication.
Sincerely,

Sounds to me like there won be any “batches” this fime, but instead only steady rolling admissions decisions!
This gives me hope :D. Thank you!
im assuming that they aren’t doing batches this year because of the overwhelming amount of transfer applications they received
Did you make sure to mention you were a transfer in the email?
Freshman admissions are rolling until the end of March.
Considering that no one on here seems to have seen their status change yet since the first batch was released, it doesn’t seem like decisions are rolling for transfers.
If they are, at least not on a daily basis.
@falltransfer1
Good question! I totally didn’t. I assumed it’d be included in the details of the question when they received it, because I asked the question through my portal.
I’d rather wait for my next spring break than this.
Yeah, I suppose the system probably would recognize that. Well I hope you’re right. I guess we’ll find out as the week progresses.
Thanks for the heads up.
I emailed an admission officer and was told that they would all be released by end of April doesn’t look like anything has changed much…don’t know if there will still be batches OR if the above question was in regards to freshmen admission and not transfer admission
Will they release admission decisions tomorrow?
@chuclan21 I sometimes wish they banned me from all UC related sites, including reddit and this forum, so that I can get on with my life and not to focus that much on waiting >:) Hang in there, 46 days left at most.
@TonyStark93 According to last year’s experience, do you guys think 3.61 is competitive for econ major?
