@psychtransfer2018 I think it varies from school to school whether or not the portal will go down. I.E. Irvine goes down at least once a day and periodically releases, Davis didn’t go down at all and seemingly everyone got theirs at once

@AyGrey Mathematical Science is the same as applied math at UCSB. Not sure why they decided to go with that name for the major but yeah it’s nearly exactly the same as applied at other schools.
Freshman decisions released at 4:30 this year so here’s hoping lol
@bcgyoo @likeschowder I am going for a pure Math BA and am not going to graduate school after. I have some hefty experience with programming as I took several C++ sequences and some Java. I plan to be a developer/programmer after getting the Math BA. Math degrees are highly comparable with CS degrees with some employers even preferring Math graduates as they have better approaches to problem solving. I plan to work on side projects at UCSB and create a portfolio of experience and programs, while getting the Math BA. Hopefully that cuts it and helps me get somewhere because with programming, experience > degree. Some CS graduates don’t even know how to program LOL
On a sidenote, @bcgyoo , I do not believe UCSB has an exact Applied Math major. However they have the pure math, math science, or acturial science majors

@likeschowder It’s a very interesting concept, CS Just takes some dedication to learn. If you want to self learn may I recommend the YouTube Series by a guy named Bucky. His channel is named TheNewBoston and every Computer Scientist knows it.
