I am a student at Irvine Valley College and I am looking to transfer to UCSD via TAG for the Fall 2014 year as a general biology major. I will have completed IGETC by Spring 2014, I currently have a 3.66 GPA and I have not finished all my prereqs.

I'm confused as to the transfer requirements. According to biology.ucsd.edu, I must have completed OChem, Physics, BILD 1/2/3, Calc 1/2/3 and all that junk. But, according to TAG, fulfillment of the IGETC with 3.5+ GPA is the only requirement. I have not finished the BILD 1/2/3 series, as it requires Bio 93/94/97/99 at IVC and I haven't finished, and will not finish, Bio 99 due to OChem prereqs.

0) Will I be denied admission based upon my incomplete major requirements?
1) According to Assist.org, I cannot partially complete BILD 1/2/3. So, officially, by not finishing Bio 99 at IVC, have I done 0% of BILD 1/2/3? How will this affect me?
2) Does IGETC count as completion of each college's additional GEs? For example, I noticed Sixth has an upper division writing requirement as part of its GEs. If so, which college is best for transfers so I don't have to do any additional GE classes?

Completion of major prerequisites is not a requirement for TAG at UCSD, so you’re fine.

Since no partial credit is given, you would likely have to complete the entire BILD series at UCSD. You may be allowed credit for one or two of the BILD courses, but that’s something you would have to contact UCSD about. I’d recommend just finishing Bio 99 at a CC while you finish up the rest of your major prereqs at UCSD, or simply staying another year at IVC (and save a ton of money on those lower division courses).
