I was wondering how the UCSD grant works, because I heard from a friend with an EFC higher than mine and a lower GPA getting more money than me. I'm getting 2795. And is there any way I could get more?

Thanks

Which grant gave you 2795? Cal grant?
You could be eligible for the Cal Grant A Transfer Entitlement Award if you filled FAFSA out by 3/2/2010.

I’m referring to the UCSD Grant, it’s called that. Because in addition to that I did receive the Pell and Cal grant.

How can apply for UCSD grant if I am transfering there???

I didn’t apply anywhere, they just offered it to me in the Preliminary Financial Information. I guess all you need to do is apply for FAFSA early.

yeah apply by march 2nd and all the grants will be included. You got more than i did haha for that I will be only receiving 2773. Is it because your friend is dorming and will require to have more aids? >__<

What’s weird is from UCSD grants I got over 7000 dollars. Which was quite a bit higher than the grant that UCSB gave me. My EFC was a little over $5,000, for reference…

oh gosh i’m getting over $14k/year in UCSD grants. go figure? what if tax returns found out our efc was SLIGHTLY higher?

When I estimated my Fafsa, I got over 9500 dollars in grants from UCSD. That was when my efc was over 9000.

When I did my correction, I got an efc of 2300. Hopefully, I will get more grant aid!
