UCSD: Help Will I Get Rescinded

Okay so basically this was the most difficult semester of my entire life. My dad had open heart surgery and I got a second job working 70+ hours a week to take care of my little sister and my 5 classes were draining me. I managed to pull 1 A, 3 B’s, and 1 C. This is a 2.93 because the class with a C was 4 units with the rest being 3. The last time I got a C in a class was my first year of communit college (I have been there three years)

The question here is, my contract is 3.0 so I will get rescinded but is there a chance that since I have a good reason and it’s relatively close to a 3.0 and my grades have never been below a 3.0 in any of my semesters ever, will they have mercy on me?

Do I call or send an email? Please help

I am no expert, but if all you say is true, I can’t imagine they wouldn’t give you a break here. Best thing is to be proactive and call and explain your situation. Good luck! I hope your father is okay now.

I believe the contract states that you must get over a 2.0 in just your spring semester grades and get a C or higher in all subject requirements. You just have to maintain over a 3.0 for your overall gpa, which it sounds like with only 2 Cs in your college career, that you have over a 3.0.

You should reread your contract to make sure.
