@Oliver: It’s not an interruption. Single studios, in my experience, are going to run you about $1K. That was when I looked about 2yrs ago, I’m not sure what it is now. It might be around $1200.

Another area to look into is the part of SD south of Rose Canyon called University City. It’s mostly houses (some of which are for rent if you can get a couple of friends together), but there are a few apt. complexes in the area. The reason I mention that area is because the UCSD shuttle (free for students) runs down there.

Other places to check out would be North Clairemont, and maybe around Mira Mesa, but you’ll have to drive yourself (or long-distance bike) to school and it may not be worth the money for the parking pass or the headache for parking on campus.

The Arjis plots are based on data gathered from police reports, not from statistics. You can pretty much just analyze the plots with your eyes and see what kinds of crimes you’ll get in those areas.

police reports are truth

sorry if im slow to respond im juggling ■■■■■■■■ you with ■■■■■■■■ fenris in another thread

Yeah, I had a feeling you were ■■■■■■■■. It didn’t seem like you were paying attention.

Jeez, get that stick out of your a s s @quad

@Oliver - What’s your price range? Have you considered a one bedroom? The price is not so different, I don’t think. I know apartments on Regents and Nobel offer really good prices. They’re all filled with college students. Plus, it’s pretty difficult to find studios in La Jolla (unless we’re talking about the million-dollar flat studios near the coast).

awww props to J’Ho for answering anyway.

Hahaha, what a trooper.

So this is where you guys all went lol. @quad Ooh, where are you ■■■■■■■■ Fenris? I wanna see

What an interesting discussion hahaha, I’m gonna read this thread later and come to it. My major has a lot of emphasis on studying crime and neighborhood relations…I just saw the word “crime statistics”, that sounds so cool.

@edelynly: I feel too prideful for even listing a rate cause I haven’t even been admitted to UCSD yet lol. I feel that if I get rejected all this fantasizing will have made me felt so guilty. But it’s basically the cheapest possible - $700 - $1,100, and preferably a studio over a “single bedroom” because I’m sort of a germaphobe/clean freak and wouldn’t want to share a communal bathroom with potential druggies/the like. I know you didn’t mention a specific rate difference, but do you know if there’s a significant difference in rate between a single studio and a “single bedroom” apartment?

Thanks so much for those specific apartment names, I’ll definitely write those down!

not all druggies are dirty hiv infected needle sharing users, sometimes theyre just moms with the rx for hydrocodone… NO no i told myself i would leave the ppl of CC alone. okay im done. promise.

Essenar: Thanks for the detailed information, very helpful!

sorry, i can’t let you guys knock on national city.everyone considers national city the bowels of san diego. i have lived here for 25 years and i have never had a car stolen, house broken into, or even my bike stolen which i keep loose in my backyard. sometimes i forget to lock the door at night. just cause we’re poor and just cause we’re mexican doesn’t mean that we are criminals. and besides, a lot of times there is a lot of crime going on and you don’t know it because the police are not issuing tickets, citations or arresting people because there is pressure for them to to keep the crime rate down.

Sorry about that Lolisaguila. I take the blame here. I didn’t mean to imply anything negative about National City. I used them as an example for crime rate comparison with UTC, but I could’ve used anywhere really. Hell, Pacific Beach would’ve worked just as well as a comparison. You are right, there are some perfectly nice areas of National City. My south-of-the-8 homies kind of get an unjustified bad rap.

Haha, I had to laugh at the title of this thread. UTC is surrounded by affluent areas, it’s one of the safest places to be in San Diego.

anyone looking for a roommate on-campus? looking for a roomy for torrey-pines possibly.
