anyone at all?

Pick the one with a potential advisor doing work closest to what you want to do. Reputation and location don't mean much if you're not doing what you want to do.

Well, the thing is, Im currently at Michigan and am doing research which I really enjoy. Plus, my advisor really wants me to stay on with him and do a PhD. My concern is about staying at the same university for both undergrad and grad. Moreover, Michigan really sucks (if you've lived there your whole life).

In any case, according to the UCSD website there are only a handful of people workin on MEMS for bio applications. I was wondering if anyone whose at UCSD could elaborate a little bit about the state of MEMS research at UCSD.

Contact some grad students working at UCSD - if they aren't listed on the website, the grad office should be able to supply you with contacts to discuss the program.
