UCSD questions

I have some relatives who live near downtown SD.

Can UCSD students ride the bus for free to downtown sd? What's the limit point?

Also, I've lived in LA my whole life, but oddly enough, have never been to sd until last Saturday...what are fun things to do in the city? (you can define "fun" any way you want to ;))

Also, is La Jolla a cool place to explore? What are some things to do in La Jolla?

I am pretty introverted, but one thing I love doing is exploring places and going on trips either with friends or by myself.

Also, are the surrounding areas of UCSD "safe?"

Thanks!

Anybody? Bueller…Bueller?

go check out ucsdfml.

lol, are you serious? that site won’t answer any of my questions but only give me the same dread these poor saps write about each day…

anyways, i’m surprised not many people can or will answer this question.

O_o

not sure

Beach (surf, swim, bbq’s), bars in the city, clubs, hiking, and depends what your into. I think you’ll find lots of things to do.

Yes, so freaken nice.

Surrounding cities are safe but you have to watch out for certain places near the city. Stay street smart.

No. Just the campus shuttle loop. Check UCSD’s website for details on the loop, I think there’s like three routes in total. They go to a few UCSD places like the Mesa Housing and Scripps, and places in UTC that have a substantial number of off-campus students (like Nobel and Regents area).

Balboa Park. There are a ton of museums and the zoo. Also, beaches.

La Jolla is mostly upper class white people frankly. The village is worth checking out on a weekend at least once, but to be honest, most students go to Pacific Beach to find fun.

UTC (the area immediately surrounding UCSD) is quite safe. Pretty much everything north of the 8 is safe enough. Really the only bad areas are a few dodgy neighborhoods east of downtown along University Ave. However, let’s keep it in perspective: San Diego’s idea of a ghetto is nothing compared to places like Oakland or Chicago.

I’m not sure if they give you free rides to downtown, but I know that you can ride the “Breeze” buses for free. I’m not sure if that leads to downtown. There’s a bus that goes from Solana Beach (train station) to UCSD

Beach.

Look above

I am pretty introverted, but one thing I love doing is exploring places and going on trips either with friends or by myself.

Yes. it’s a hell of a lot safer than LA…

Yes. Click here for detailed info [Public Transportation Serving UCSD](<a href=“Transportation Services”>Transportation Services)

What a stupid and offensive question.

What a stupid and offensive question.

What a stupid and offensive question.

^ Wow. What stupid and useless answers. What’s so stupid and offensive about his questions? I could think of a million ones worse than the ones he asked, and if anything, the questions were completely innocent.

Anyway:

Yes. They mentioned this during transfer admit day.

I’m personally more of a beach person myself so it’s a definite plus, but if you start missing the city life in LA there’s always downtown SD.

All sorts of stuff to do in there, like the ones in here: [UC San Diego Recreation - Main](http://recreation.ucsd.edu/)

Yes, they say La Jolla’s a safe area. I come from Irvine and La Jolla didn’t feel much different, I still felt safe walking around at night plus the people are pretty chill.
