UCSD Tag+major question

This is my 1st post here and I know this question probably has been referred to many times, but I just want a clear understanding so I don't have to always be paranoid. So I apologize ahead of time.

The tag agreement of UCSD mentions this: "Both of the UC English courses and the UC math course must be completed by the end of Fall 2010, prior to Fall 2011 admission." It's a bit vague for me to fully understand.

I have completed all my english courses, except I'm behind on math. For my psychology major it requires all the highest math courses from my community college such as (Statistics,calc1,calc2,more calc,computer science) *no clue why they require you to take so much calc for psychology major... but ucsd is my dream school so I must complete it. So... I have just been eligible to take statistics over the fall, along with trig, but the tag agreement says I have to finish the math courses by fall2010 ? So do I have to finish those 3 calc classes by the end of fall too? So am I still eligible? I am taking statistics over the fall so can that make me eligible for the TAG agreement? Or do I have to finish ALL of my UC math courses.

2nd Question Regarding Transfering is..

I plan to double major in Psychology and Philosophy, UCSD only requires me to take one class Philosophy 8 (introduction to logic) from my cc for my philosophy major while my psychology major wants me to take over 7 different classes very unbalanced but anyways my question is this, would it be more beneficial for me to transfer as "Philosophy Major" rather than Psychology major? Since I'm double majoring anyways, and another thing to add is that I still have not taken my core classes for my psychology major, but i'm going to take 3 core psychology classes this fall and complete more over the spring, can this hurt me for admission if they see I have delayed my core classes to my last year at the CC? So if I transfer as "philosophy major" would it look much better?

Sorry for typing so much, I will appreciate any feedbacks. ^^

they are referring to the IGETC when they say that, and IGETC requires you to take one UC level math course, so you only need to take stats (I did TAG+ IGETC :D)

also, i have no idea how to answer your second question :frowning: sorry

Thank you so much for answering my 1st question! It really took a lot of paranoia out of me ^^.

Now its just my second question that i’m wondering about ><;

first q has been teed away, he is right. no need to worry, you have your math done for tag and igetc, just keep at the math for your prereqs. dont worry, calc is not as scary as it sounds. its fun :)

second q is easy. you cant apply as a double major in your application, so it is pointless to worry about your psych side of things looking up to par. i would continue with them and keep your psych skills and education up if you are really going to double major in them, but with no real pros or cons as far as getting your 2xmajors.

just apply as the phil, and once at UCSD, talk to councilors about double majoring and what to do to ensure you stay on track for that.

good luck and stay motivated! oh, and if you really like UCSD, dont listen to some of the jerks on here that say its a bad school… cuz it isnt. some people on this site like to bash it for some reason :?

Ah okay! Thanks for your great advice, I will surely do that. And yes I really love ucsd xD, I will never listen to those that bash it >:d.

Thanks for all your help guys!
