UCSD: The 6 Campus System

Truthfully, the system always confused me. I never had an oppertunity to research them fully and the websites are not all too helpful in deciding which one is right for me. I went on 3 tours there just to get a glimpse of all 6 and I’m still pretty freakin bewildered.

So, can anyone else tell me how they prioritized the 6 colleges and why?
Thanks.

I need some help prioritizing the list… can anyone help?

I’m looking for a big campus (not the biggest, I’d say about 1/4 the ucla campus)
modern buildings and old-school look on the outside.

thanks!

I'm also looking for information on the campuses

i got some quick notes from when i toured the campus...i can post them wed. morning

I like how Roosevelt and Revelle included sample schedules, but the others didn't

^bump bump bump

please help..

Not really sure on the specifics of these differences but here:

Location: Some are closer to the class buildings some are closer to the beach
Core Curriculum: Each college has a different inherant curriculum (some are better suited for science people, come are language and there is an all-round one too)
People: Because of the difference in what you have to learn in the curriculums at each one there will be different people housing there. If you hate hanging out with science nerds (even if you are one of them) you might not want to choose their college even though you will take their classes.

revelle: heavy duty classes, enjoy school
eleanor: diversity/ service abroad
sixth: technology
earl warren: connextion b/w undergrad education and career
thurgood: community service
muir: most student-control over schedule

what about math/science?

they aren't organized by subject, goomba pretty much hits the bulls-eye for everything you need to know...you can major in any subject and be in any college

well he said something about a college more suited for science people

Yeah, I got a pretty good feel for them when I visited. Sixth actually sounded kinda cool, not to mention the fact that everything's new. My dad (who was in Revelle) said it really doesn't make a big difference...you still have classes with everyone in the five other schools etc.
