So I'm currently taking a chem (2nd series) class and i'm afraid that i might end up with a C

If i do get a C my cumulative GPA will drop below a 3.0

My UC GPA is a 3.1
cumulative is a 3.0

I have TAG and IGETC finished and all the other requirements including Math/English, units

My major is Bio which i know i will not get into as my major if i do get accepted into UCSD, but my alt. major is psych, most likely i will be accepted with TAG as my alt.major

Both majors have chem (2nd series) as a prereq

If i do end up dropping because i might get a C will UCSD revoke my admission?

I see it like this drop maybe and possibly get revoked or take the C and get denied for sure

I know a bunch of you will be like study more blah blah blah but this is the worst case scenario if things don't workout. i just wanna know if they will revoke me if i do end up dropping with a W

If you have TAG then I don’t think you need to have your major pre-reqs completed. You should wait until you get your acceptance and then email UCSD concerning this situation.

if you get a W i dont think it will affect your admission…

but if you drop this chem class will that make your total units by the end of spring below 60?

no i have way over 60 units is not a problem.

i’m just scared that if i drop it i will be revoked plus i’m not even a full time student right now so if i do end up dropping i will have one class and i will only be taking 4 units this semester

^^ UCSD is a unique breed of cat, when it comes to TAG and prereqs. They really DON’T care too much about your pre-reqs as long as you have TAG, and you’re talking about a NON-IMPACTED major. What they do care about is religiously following their TAG requirements. They are quite inflexible about this. Trust me on this one!!! I have dealt with them on this issue!!

So, the bottom line is, if you get that C and your gpa drops below 3.0, by even a hair, they are very very likely to revoke your admission. OTOH, if you are simply missing one or two pre-reqs, and meet their holy grail of admissions requirements: full IGETC certification  , plus the other TAG-specific requirements (60+ units completed, 2.00 min. gpa for the last semester etc.), you will be perfectly fine.

So even if you think there may be the slightest possibility of your gpa going below 3.0 drop that course!!!
