There were many with TAG and better GPAs that were rejected last year from UCSD. I also
an extremely frightened that I won’t meet something unexpectedly. I’m counting on a lot of ap credits to transfer and also could be missing one of the Pre Reqs if they wished to read it that way

At least you guys can tag. In my case, I was forced by my major to tag Ucr as business admin since bus at uci is untagable. Luckily I tapped cal, not guarantee though. The only school I am willing to do Econ is ucla but my chance is very low.

@ Ferrari4XD

Why do you think your chance is low?

some may be happy tomorrow…going to be doing some research today…

I just re-read the original post; do the UCs usually put out decisions during the weekends? I’d think its only school days yes?

Also; we dont really have a countdown going here…

14 days until Mar. 19 (hypo date for release)…
Then again, UCSD could screw up again :/

Did anyone else receive an email from UCI regarding financial aid?

i believe they have during some previous years Pav, & No @ AFAR

@AllFieldsAreReq: The only email I’ve gotten recently was from UCSB reminding me to apply for Finical Aid.

Last year, UCSD released the first batch on March 19th which was a Saturday, so yes they do release on weekends. If they were to do the same Saturday this year then they would actually release a batch on the 17th.

Also, apparently UCI also released some of theres on friday of last year? (maybe I read something wrong…)

Who knows I wannttt decisions nowwwwww! It’d be so much easier if they all released one day. At least it wouldn’t be a huge emotional rollercoaster.

so UCI might release some at midnight tonight???

i think the sporadic decisions are fun.

but yes I have seen the friday trend as well, thats why i am thinking either this tuesday or friday or the last week of march.

i think schools get their “time”

for instance, i think next week or the week after, UCSD will begin rolling out decisions, so UCI won’t be next week, so either this week or the last week of March, then UCD then UCB then UCLA or vice versa, people SHOULD be hearing from UCSC very soon too right?

& happy, more than likely not, but who knows! i haven’t read anywhere last year or the year before that about the decisions not posted out until 9am message, how about you Pavin?

Kittychen that’s very interesting in regards to the UC’s getting there own time. Just recently an admissions rep from UCLA came to my CC. She was saying that UCLA/Berk usually put out one/two days apart from each other. She then said something along the lines of “there’s always a bit of competition between us two schools”… She also apparently looks through apps etc. Food for thought at the very least I guess.

Lets start with the actual message… “During March admission notifications are posted prior to 9:00 a.m. No admission status changes will occur for the remainder of the day.”

If we are being extremely technical “the day” does end at 12 tonight. So theoretically they can come from 12-9am in the morning. I don’t think there is a 9am sharp message but probably before it… and then no updates after…

Does this mean I’m going to stay up all night for decisions? No. lol, dont see it being very worth it; hell they could even be sent out like you said kitty at that end of the month ha.

I’m thinking a 12am is possible…if the site goes down tonight at 12am, something is up for sure, and we can break out the drugs. 12am possibility is highly possible though imo.

Yeah, thats what I’m saying, each school has its cushion room. UCLA and UCB i know are rivals and what not amongst applicants, but i think if you look at it all the other schools give each other their OWN week. Just an idea though, i could be wrong.

Its fun to speculate, i mean any day now UCI can come out… I don’t think it will be late March this time…Probably UCSC next week, then UCSD the following then finishing with UCI if it doesn’t come this week, then Davis early April then the stretch to the two KINGS in mid to late April.

for UCI, people on last year’s thread said they got an email about their admission status changing at 3am.

thank you for that strive.

I’m going to seriously be thanking God, if I get accepted. UCI is my #1. UCSD is dope and all but the whole extra reqs. Ill just drive to La Jolla cove if I wanna go scuba diving.

I am going to make an acceptance video too, magical moments arriving for all of us.

UCSB starts the 19th this year, I have a feeling I’m going to hear from SB and SD before Irvine.

i forgot about UCSB.

maybe UCSC this week, UCSD next week, UCSB following then UCI last week of march.

blahhh.

UCSB is set in stone already on the 19th?

Yah, on my app portal it says:

"Thank you for your application to UC Santa Barbara for the fall term 2012.

Admission decisions will be presented on this UCSB “application status” website starting Monday, March 19, 2012, at 3 p.m. (Pacific Time).

The majority of freshman decisions will be released at that time. Transfer decisions will be announced starting then, with additional decisions placed on the site as evaluations are completed. All transfer decisions will be announced by May 1. "

hmmm, well thanks for that.

What we can assume actual first batch for UCSD last year was Mar. 19.

UCI is sort of a “backup”-“backup” for me.
UCLA(1st) - UCSD (backup); Cal (20% chance).

Honestly, I’m scared I wont get in anywhere…
