<p>hello! im nancy , this is my first post... i was wondering which one of these 2 has the best PHILOSOPHY department... these two are math/ science oriented so i dont really know which one is best... ideally uc berkeley and ucla have better humanities department but those schools are a real reach to me... advice please!</p>

<p>Why not just wait and see where you are admitted. Once you have admission if you get into both go and visit. There is not enough difference to really make your decision on anything other than which school fits you better. :)</p>
<p>ditto. generally, you'll find more humanities-minded people at ucla and berkeley .. ucsd is somewhat nerdy...</p>

<p>UCSD has a great history department, and their social science is top-notch.</p>
<p>If all else fails, there's always the U.S. News ratings for your particular major. It's interesting to see how they view such things, but I wouldn't take everything they say as the gospel truth. But it would still give you a general idea of how strong your major is at the two different schools.</p>
