I am a transfer student going to transfer fall 2008. I narrowed down into UCSD and UCLA. But I can't decide which school to go to. What will be the difference between them if graduated from both school? Seems UCLA has a brand name. But UCSD got better program. Will students graduated from UCLA get more pay than a UCSD student? Are companies looking for better name school or more experience students?

Companies that know will place UCLA and UCSD on equal footing...you aren't going to see a difference in salary/employment opportunites from either.

Bottom line: Go to the school you like better for other factors (social environment, location, etc.)

Agree with the above said, go to the school you like better for other factors, location, social environment, etc.

I was once speaking to an engineer major who told me that what he realized as a engineer major is that you can attend basically anywhere and still have the same job prospects/opportunity, because engineering at some cal states is as good if not better at some of the UCs. Especially considering that the cal states tend to be more practical, while UCs are more theory based.
