UCSD vs UCSB Party Scene

UCSB has an amazing party scene based on word of mouth. Anybody have any first hand stories?

Also, what’s the party scene like at UC Socially Dead apparently. I thought UC San Diego was a party school. Is it really “socially dead”?

Also are house parties open to people who at least come with someone who is invited?

You are going to college to study and learn. Comparing schools by party scenes is not a good plan. If you choose the best party school and indulge you may end up visiting with the dean about academic difficulties. Once had a student who creamed a test; he replied, “Hey man, I was wasted all weekend.”

Most schools do provide social activities as do campus groups. Students go out to bars and parties on weekends. Some locations have more options, but you only do one thing at a time. So, you don’t need an identified party school to have a good time.

Party schools may be listed by category in college guides. You want to enjoy attending college without messing up academically at college or compromise you opportunity to attend graduate school or find a really good job after graduation.
