Hey guys- I was just accepted into Warren College at UCSD and I didn’t see anything on here for it so I decided to start a thread. Say your major and anything else you find important. Just get to know each other!
I got into Warren and my major is Human Biology. Anyone else?
My son got into Warren for Computer Science, but he’s hoping to get to choose between UCSD and UCI. Are you attending for sure?
@CopperlineX2 I’m still waiting on some college decisions but most likely I will go there
I got into Warren last Friday the 16th. My major is Biochem.
I’m a Chemical Engineering major international student from Saudi Arabia. Still waiting for other decisions throughout the rest of March until 1st of April.
i got in as an econ major
I got in too! Structural Engineering
Is this everyone in Warren? Lol.
I got in too. Probability and Stats
I read from last year’s post, someone joked that Warren College “smells like engineers” and foods in the dining hall “tastes like they are cooked by engineers.” What do they mean exactly? Dorms smell bad and food taste bad?
When we visited UCSD, we saw Warren is right by the main Computer Science building, so we ranked it top of the six colleges, But someone says “Warren students have to walk a long way to classes”? Why?
I’m fairly certain the distance is because a lot of the core classes - GEs as well as major classes - are typically held in the Muir/Revelle areas (York, Galbraith, Solis, Peterson, Ledden, etc. are some of the largest lecture halls). Sometimes in Center, which is located off of Library Walk, or even in Sixth (Pepper Canyon Hall is also another large lecture room). Warren has a large lecture hall as well, but I don’t think it’s utilized as much as the other lecture halls across campus.
Physics with Specialization in Astrophysics
Are Warren College’s GEs hard for non engineer majors?
If anyone in Warren is looking to switch colleges hmu, I want to switch into warren
@bogeyorpar yes, @thinkweism is correct. Proximity to the CSE building is great for office hours and those late night coding sessions in the dungeon, but apart from a few classes and many discussions held in Warren Lecture Hall, you’ll spend a lot of time walking/biking uphill/bussing to Revelle and Marshall.
The comment you read might have been mine. It’s a bit of an exaggeration; while Warren does have the worst dining hall, the dorms and apartments are actually pretty decent living. They definitely don’t smell, although the CS basement kind of does. When you get bored of the Canyon Vista food, you can always walk to the very-nearby Price Center and Foodworx to mix it up or eat somewhere else on campus between classes.
@UCSDfan1007 i got into warren and same major as you… but im worried because people told me Warren GEs are tougher??
I actually heard the opposite; that Warren and Muir GE’s are some of the easiest ones. I heard Revelle was the hard one.
@UCSDfan1007 i don’t know what’s true anymore it’s kind of scaring me away… people also told me biochem at ucsd is tough as well… are you in “biochemistry and chemistry” or “biochemistry and cell biology” ?
