i cant believe it!!! i got a 580 on math 2c and a 560 on chem....does the formula uuses your highest score...omg im seriously freeeaking out!!

^just retake them.. they only use your highest scores

not to gloat.. but I got my sat I scores back.. and now my points for gpa and sat are 7128.. whoot!

For your earlier question...

judging from the amount of typing I had to do.. I would say Muir was the best (or at least.. has the least) but I could be wrong

7128!! awesome you'll get in fosho:)

katt8 is there any site with those GE's on it?

bbuumpppppp

!bump pmub!

one last bump then im givin up

is their a level of difficulty in gettin into different colleges at UCSD
for example is it harder to get into Muir than 6th college?
do they look at different things from you?

bumppppp!!!

is there a higher cutoff for out-of-staters? i meet the 7500 requirement by examination and GPA alone, but i'm guessing there's some catch if you're not in CA

wow if you made the cutoff with examination and gpa thats pretty good....thats like a 4.3 gpa and you got a 2400/800/800 can i see your stats...plus i have no idea if there is a higher cutoff for out-of-staters

well, i really dont have stellar stats, i have "slightly above average."

GPA * 1000 = 4000
new SAT = 2060
top 2 SAT II's = 770 + 710

all together that's a 7540, which is barely scraping, but i'd meet some of the other requirements...

in either case, anyone know if the standards are A LOT higher for out-of-staters?

you kinda got the formula wrong

(2400+800+800)times 0.8 =3200(they cap it at that score)

right now
(2060+770+710)X0.8=2832+4000=

6832, so you kind of need a lot more stuff not only academics, about 700 points, but you can get that through going beyond minimum for A-g courses, community service/leadership....

oh well, thanks for that. yeah i meet a lot of the extra requirements, so it shouldnt be toooo much of a problem.

also, does anyone know if Ucsd is as unbelievably large as, say, UT austin? i know there's an undergrad count at collegeboard, but maybe a smaller class size would make the population seem not so huge - if anyone gets that. now that i'm narrowing down my schools, i'm trying to decide if huge UC's are a good idea if i wanna get into med school later down the road

alright ppl
sry for the late reply but here is the formula
GPA x 1000
(New SAT + SATII + SATII) x 0.8
33-39 A-G courses is worth 250pts
40 A-G courses is worth 500pts
ELC worth 300pts
Educational Environment worth 300pts
Parental Income < $60k worth 150pts
under federal TRIO low-income cutoff worth 300pts
Parents: Some college = 150 HS or less = 300
Leadership: 150pts for 2 minor roles, 300pts for a major role (President or VP of class, editor-in-chief, eagle scout, girl scout gold award)
Special talents, achievements, awards : 150 single, 300 multiple
Comm. Server <200 is 150pts, >200 is 300
AVID, EAOP given some points
Single Parent household = 250pts
working 20hrs+ week = 250pts
Life altering event (death of immediate familty member etc.) = 500pts
Less severe event = 250pts

You guys got that?

last yer in state cut off was 7450ish
out of state was ~100 points higher

If you make 7700, you'll be pretty safe. just dont bomb your essays.

peace

squarehead: what is educational environment? what is the cut off for ucla, ucsb, and uci?
