I woke up late LOL, and I didn’t even know the app is going to show up today. I checked my email and went oh snaps!

i was working til 2pm, when the email was sent at 10am! does that mean i get last pick now? :(

HI FIVE! welcome to the club.

Is it not valid till you pay? I’m at work and filled out everything but I need to pay…

until you pay its not “complete”
i called to verify this lol, so if you mail a check, your application is not complete till they receive and cash it

I was about 4 hours late. Got the email at 9AM. Oh well.

What floor plan are you guys requesting? I’m gonna try and check out what’s available when I move in Friday to see what I like the most.

If I don’t get a single, UCSD can take my $650 haha. I’m outta’ there.

@ciba29: You’ll still be living with 3-6 people in the apartment. You don’t need to share a room to experience chillness :P

I like the floorplans in East. I don’t like the two story thing happening in West and I feel like East is a bit bigger, though West does have better views.

haha oh no, because Nuvydeep is looking for a roomie, but I actually do want to get a single.
I was just asking if it’s possible to request the same apt because then at least if we were in the same apt unit that’d be cool. Unless other people have already taken the singles in that apartment hah

@Grimes You got the email at 9AM? I got mine at 10AM… I’m curious as to whether they sent it out all at once as one large batch, or sequentially in smaller batches beginning at 8AM.

@ciba - yeah do it! :D

i want a single too, but i’m on the waitlist but i really want the convenience of living on campus so i’d take a double if i have to. but i want a chill roomate :)

Yeah mine is time stamped at 9AM.

@Nuvydeep: Ohh okay, oh man I wonder what my chances are for a single then haha, if not then maybe I’ll request rooming double with you during the phone call we’re suppose to get next week, yeah? And I think of all buildings, I like Village East Building 1 too! haha

@ciba - Yay forsure! Well the lady on the phone told me all the singles were taken and that I’d be like #15 on the waitlist but I submitted my contract kind of late for the housing, so hopefully you have more luck? Haha. Well if you have to get a double, yes please let’s be roomies! haha. That’d be awesome. She said Build 5 of Village East was full so I couldnt have that and then Building 2 had the tolerance free area or something? And building 4 just has way too many units so I passed on that. Hmm, but yeah! Let me know :)

Hey guys, so they tell us to look over the floor plan and have a few options in mind when they call us starting monday. So what are we suppose to looks for like the criteria, etc…? I have not been to the Village before so I don’t really know how the building looks over there. Any advices? Thanks!

what about building 1 the tower?

@nuvydeep

How did you find out that you were on the waitlist for single rooms?

@ktran13 You can check out the floor plans at [UC San Diego Housing - The Village, Floor Plans and Maps](http://hdh.ucsd.edu/thevillage/plansmaps.asp) These will give you an idea, but of course not as well as in person. Most West buildings have ocean views, East not so much. West seems to have more doubles and most of floor plans consist of two story apts- meaning upstairs is kitchen/living room & downstairs are the bedrooms. East seems like a bit more bigger and more singsles but not much of an ocean view. But I mean you’ll still get that ocean breeze. Unfortunately the pictures on The Village site aren’t what you’ll necessarily get when you move in. When I toured it at Transfer Day we saw what the apt would look like when we move in and it’s just like raw furniture and everything else we’d have to decorate ourselves haha but still, the Village apt units are pretty nice.

@nuvydeep Yes most definitely! Wow it seems like East is quite the happenin place, all the apts are quite full already. It seems like my chances for a single are dwindling down hah So are you still on waitlist for singles though? or did you just opt for double. I guess I’ll just have to wait for the phone call and see what singles are available. But if doubles, I’ll request rooming with you! Your room/ apt is a real nice location too haha

It’s weird that they’d run out of singles, unless they reserved a bunch for incoming students. When I did the tour of Village last year the guide said that they had so many singles requests (and a surplus of doubles) that they were simply giving doubles out to only one student at the single rate in order to fill the place.
