I am currently a Sophomore in high school, so I do have time to improve my statistics. But, I have a 3.4 unweighted 3.9 weighted GPA. I am in the Cambridge AICE Academy at my school, and I'm projected to have eight AICE courses completed by the time I graduate. I play baseball for my school and am part of the Interact Club. I will be in my schools Guitar IV Classical Ensemble senior year and I have already 75 community service hours completed. Also, I have not taken my SAT/ACT yet due to the fact that I am only a Sophomore. My Pre-SAT score from Freshman year were in the 65 percentile though. So based on a GPA perspective, how are my chances looking?

By the way, my mother went to Santa Fe Community College. My dad went to Georgia Southern, but did not graduate. (Neither did my mother.) But I’m not sure if that helps or hurts me.

You should be building a list, improving your GPA, starting to look at the SAT/ACT, etc. When you’re a sophomore, worrying about one school is a waste of your time.

Okay. I figured that.

For UF, if you need a target, focus on improving your GPA and try to get it up to a 4.1 (weighted) or higher by the end of your junior year. Keep up on your EC’s and survive your junior year (which can be stressful!). You may want to study/prep for the SAT/ACT over the summer as your time will be limited once your junior year starts.

Good Luck!

Gator88NE , thank you !
