I hope more people get news about their application status soon! good luck everyone! By the way I applied to Summer A/C term

congratulations! I applied to CALS also for fall 2010, with a 4.0 GPA and no decision yet :(

oh ok I just saw that you applied for summer, which is why your decision is up!

Correct me if im wrong, but summer apps were due feb 1st, and those who applied for summer found out about a month later. Anybody think fall apps will go the same way?

I doubt it. I have looked up from last year’s and depending on your college, it may be early April to Mid-May. It depends. I applied to CALS and I asked when would I receive notifications. They told me decisions are given out in April and by no later than the first week of May would people have a decision. Again it depends on the college, so I would contact your school first. But everybody should be patient, trust me I know it is agonizing. Good Luck for everybody that is applying.

Vivaladan what major are you applying for in CALS? I am applying for their Microbiology program. I hope I get in!

Cubanflorida, thanks for the info! Thats actually pretty comforting because I applied to CALS as well and when I met with a transfer counselor at UF in Nov she told me they could let me know any time up until the first day before fall classes!

my major is biology. hoping I get in too!

nautilus that is pretty sad of them to say that and complete wrong. first off besides it being just unfair to let you know like that, it is also against state policy. IF you are admitted you have to attend transfer preview, and the last transfer preview is a week before classes begin. furthermore there is a deadline to sign up for those transfer previews.

if you get admitted there obviously needs to be a time in which you sit down with your new advisor, figure out your coursework, and proceed from there. again this all happens IF you get admitted. but they have to let you know AT THE VERY LEAST late July.

Of course late July is really pushing it and really unnecessary. Last year the latest people got their notices of Acceptance/Rejection was mid-May. Bear in mind some schools have different deadlines than others.

This is from a few pages back, sorry I’m joining the conversation so late…

"For any transfer students applying to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. I spoke with an advisor today who said decisions should be back by late March. "

That would be wonderful if the decisions were back so early, but I just finished reading through last years thread and Fall 2009 CLAS transfers were not hearing back until mid/late April at the earliest, with most waiting until early May.

Apparently last year UF set a number of deadlines for themselves in getting back to CLAS transfers (ie Late March > Early April > Late April > Early May) and they didn’t stick to any of them.

Judging by what happened last year, the only thing that I would assume is they are likely to get back to CLAS transfers before June. =(

“Judging by what happened last year, the only thing that I would assume is they are likely to get back to CLAS transfers before June.”

Weren’t the deadlines later last year?

“Weren’t the deadlines later last year?”

I’m not sure. I just know that UF promised more than once that decisions would be made by a certain date, then failed to meet that date (by several weeks). People were waiting until mid May and June, after they had graduated CC to hear back from UF when UF promised decisions in April.

From their website (http://www.advising.ufl.edu/faq/index.html):

"CLAS transfer FAQ

How long does it take to receive a decision on my application?

Decisions are not made until after the published application deadline for a particular semester. It generally takes about four weeks for a decision to be made once the application deadline has passed. However, due to the large volume of applications received during certain times of the year, the decision time will vary."

So here you can see that they’ve said decisions for fall will “generally” come out around April 1st, but they’ve left themselves an out saying that decision times will vary.

I’d love to know by April 1st, but given their history I expect to graduate CC before I know what UF has decided.

btw

I’m waiting, applied the first week of January 2010 for Fall 2010.

My stats:
College GPA: 4.0 from a FL CC
CLAS transfer, Political Science.
PTK/SGA, although I don’t think the admissions board cares about EC’s very much.

You guys should check the website, because I’ve just been “unofficially” accepted.

3.3 GPA from Fla CC, going for a philosophy degree.

congrats drew! are you fall or summer?

I applied, and was accepted for Summer B.

Congrats again, you must be excited. =)

I just got off the phone with an advisor at the CLAS, she said that they will begin making decisions on applicants for the Fall semester next week.

Thank you, and good luck!
