Here's the situation: I have been accepted into both UCF and FSU for the summer 2010 semesters. I have rather lower test scores (1170 SAT, 24 ACT; Composite scores** I am currently signed up for the next March SAT test to attempt improvement) but a solid 4.01 or so weighted GPA. I applied late to UF, after the November 1 deadline, which says acceptance is on a space-available basis only. I will get a decision on March 26. I have a couple interesting EC's including my job at a health food store (selling organic foods and natural supplements) which I think is rather unique, I have also shadowed a family physician for 2 years because I plan to study medicine, they should also look at my AP Biology class I'm in this year which adds to my "rigor of schedule". Beyond all of this I know I am not the most likely candidate to be accepted in to UF but I recently fell in love with the campus and atmosphere (like most do) and was regretting that I had not even applied earlier. (By the way I am a Florida Resident) Even if I am not accepted into the summer 2010 term when UF makes a decision on March 26, I am looking at a transfer from either UCF (not interested in FSU at all for obvious reasons---I want to be a Gator :)----- or possibly a community college after 2 years, obtaining my AA and then going to UF.

Beyond submitting my application I have also emailed the admissions office requesting to meet with an advisor, maybe increasing my chances of being accepted.

Anybody have any suggestions, recommendations?
