Uf chances- please help

Hi there,
I applied to UF and will be hearing my decision on February 8, 2013. I would like to know my chances for acceptance. I will provide as much information as I can.

cumulative uw gpa: 4.000
cumulative w gpa: 4.678
class rank: 1/573
act score: 26
in-state
ec's: academic olympics for 2 years, student government (senate position) 1 year, key club 1 year.
comm. serv: 118 hours (100 from library, 18 from art museum)
first generation
dependent of veteran; parents divorced
low-middle class

This is all of the info I can really think of. I did not take the SAT (missed the deadline), and I know my ACT score isn't great. I have already been accepted to USF and FSU, but UF is my first choice. Please evaluate and give a percentage chance you think I have at UF. Thanks!!

Hello based on the criteria the University of Florida uses for freshman admissions the Mere fact that you are number one in your class gives you a significant chance for admission. Based on the totality of the circumstances it appears in my opinion you have a better than 95 % shot at gaining admission good luck

@Ilovethe47 Thank you for your input! I really hope you are right. I just wish my test score was at least a 28… Hopefully the rest will matter more:)

Valedictorians literally have a free pass. If your in Florida, you can go to any Florida college by YOUR choice practically. Congratulations! What will you be majoring in (out of curiosity)?

Oh my gosh, you saying that totally just boosted my confidence! Thank you. I would love to major in biology and take the pre-med path. I’m unsure of what type of doctor I’d like to be, but I know being a doctor is my calling.

I stopped reading at class rank. You’re in.

@BornToBeaGator People say that my rank alone will carry me but I am still nervous  thank you though!

@GatorPhysics Yes, I am disappointed in my score, but I could not retake it because I don’t quite qualify for free/reduced lunch so I couldn’t get the $50 fee waivered, and we couldn’t afford it… Sad, I know lol.
The AP classes I will have taken by graduation include: AP World History, AP US History, AP Psychology, AP Human Geography & AP Government. I will also have many Dual Enrollment credits from: ENC1101, ENC1102, College Algebra, Statistics, Humanities 2230, Humanities 2250, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Biology & Human Body.
The major I have declared is Biological Sciences as I plan to pursue medical school one day  Thanks for your input!

I know Summer B is not supposed to be easier to get into, but everyone I know that has gotten into Summer B has a gpa and test score that is slightly below the middle 50%… Theoretically, would I have a better chance getting into Summer B than Fall?

It doesnt matter what term you apply for… You first get accepted and then they determine who goes to which term based on preference and space, btw your in!!! Chance back if you want http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1434414-chance-me-uf-please-its-my-dream-school.html

Your term doesn’t matter, the reason why you see lower averages in summer is because students with lower stats have the tendency to apply summer whie those with higher stats tend to apply fall. It’s a tendency thing, but that doesn’t mean summer is easier. What you apply for has no bearing on your admission.

@Gators09 Okay I see what you’re saying… If I was only offered summer B I would most likely accept. The only thing that might hold me back would be financial aid not covering it or whatever! & thanks I hope I am :)

@Sabertooth Thank you for better helping me understand, it makes sense now.

Does anyone else think that my rank and gpa alone will help improve my chances of getting in? I wish my test score and EC’s were better :frowning: I believe my essay and short answers on the application were above average, however. All opinions are appreciated!!
