I applied for Summer B and am a white male.
Chances? Thank you.

Your stats are great! And you meet the req for fall for the ACT just to let you know:) I think you have a good chance of getting in though. But remember admissions is random. I wish you luck! :)

Summer B is not as much of an advantage as it used to be, so if you don’t want to attend then, I’m sorry you had to apply. Your stats do look solid, but neither your SAT/ACT is high enough for UF honors, so I wouldn’t call you a surefire candidate, as some of the other posters have done.

However, I would be extremely surprised if you were not offered attendance, yet we all need to bear in mind that UF can afford to be snobbish in admissions, so it really depends on how much they trust that your ACT score is a good representation of your abilities, and without seeing all of the components, it’s difficult to make that judgment.

I know how sporadic their decisions can be. But I didn’t apply for Summer B thinking it would be easier. I applied for Summer because I want the chance to get acclamated with the school and meet some people before the rush of Fall comes. The (even slightly) more lenient acceptance rates for Summer are purely additions to my main intentions.

Also I’m from Naples and do not wish to spend an extra two-three months here before going off.
Thank you for the input. I know I do not meet requirements for Honors college.

I wrote an essay of a treasured experience of mine in which I attended my eldest brother’s UF Pharmacy White Coat Ceremony and heard the speeches given by the various pharmacists and health care workers and how that along with the amount I look up to my brother helped guide my future plans as it was at a time where I began thinking about it. I’m majoring in Biology and plan to seek out a career path related to neurology and possibly neurosurgery.

I unfortunately did not have any compelling upward trend or hook that I could have used but I feel like the essay was well written and formatted.
