You must be an employee of Trimark, trying to sell these off-campus apartments as dorms. Maybe you should be honest and disclose your affiliation. Your chart is inaccurate also.

I have a question about these alleged “two/three room triples” that are in Sledd and Fletcher. My friends and I would really prefer those to an actual triple, but all I see on the UF website are the rates for these rooms and I’ve never heard anything else about them or seen pictures of them. Has anyone stayed in one of these or toured them or anything?

They leave a lot of info out… For a student on a meal plan, it is a major inconveniance in getting from the “luxury dorms (aka, off campus apartment)” to a dining hall. It is very misleading.

cerodri, I have heard that these rooms have 2 or 3 bedrooms and a very small common room for the roommates. I believe each person has their space/bedroom, but possibly no doors on these bedrooms. However a cloth shower curtain or other privacy screen could be put up…Son’s fall roommate has Fletcher #104 this summer- 3 room triple…Anyone else know what Fletcher’s 3 room triples are like?

theartwebreathe does work for Trimark. Look at the only other thread they’ve posted to:

It’s a blog they tried to advertise, I called them out on it. I traced who registered the site, and its Trimark.

I’m a recent grad (Spring 2010) and I’ve lived in quite a few places on campus.

Freshman – Yulee (Fall 2006/Spring 2007)
Sophomore – Springs (Fall 2007/Spring 2008)
Junior – Keys (Fall 2008/Spring 2009)

Feel free to ask any questions about the aforementioned residences.

plasticjungle, how did you like Springs? I’ll be in there this fall and I hear so many different opinions about it. Some say it’s quiet and not as social as say Broward Hall while others tell me it’s known for wild parties and drug usage. Maybe you could fill me in?

I had a pleasant experience in Springs (despite the time the girls above us flooded their shower which caused a deluge in our bathroom). Most of the guys on our floor were on the football team (a lot of athletes live in Springs), so you’d think they’d be rowdy, but it was actually pretty quiet most of the time. Also, one word of advice: don’t choose a room on the ground floor near the dumpsters unless you’re comfortable with giant palmetto bugs.

The reputation for a particular floor or dorm really depends on the makeup of the residences, which you really can’t tell in advance. Perhaps we got lucky and were grouped with a studious bunch. There seems to be a lot less supervision/laissez-faire approach in Springs than other dorms, so it might be conducive to debauchery, if anyone’s interested in that.

(Again, this is just my opinion based on my experience and the experiences of others. Yours might be completely different, but in general, Springs is OK. It’s one of the newer dorms.)

plasticjungle - how did you like Yulee? My potential roommate and I have decided on living there :)

I am an incoming freshman, and my housing assignment is scheduled for July 14th. This is extremely late (I made the mistake of misplacing my checklist for several months) and I’m very worried about being placed in a dorm I don’t like.

I’ve been accepted to the honors program and I’m wondering if I still have a chance of rooming in Hume.

That depends on your gender. There are still a lot of vacancies for guys.

Thanks for the quick reply! I’m a guy so this definitely makes me feel more at ease. I know this doesn’t guarantee me a spot, but it keeps my hopes up :)

If I’m unable to choose Hume as my dorm, Beaty is my second choice. However, in case I have to pick a different dorm when the time comes, does anyone know which dorms are considered more social and lively? I study when I need to, but because I was in IB I’m a bit tired of all of the stress of school work and would like to pick a dorm that has people who enjoy hanging out.

Glad to help. You might want to try finding a roommate with an earlier selection date though, rooms are flying fast all around. Also, I’m sorry to say that you’ve got almost no shot at Beaty. There’s only a couple vacancies on each floor; you’ve probably got a better shot at Hume.

There are 17 spots left for guys in Beaty.

Do they show floor plans when you select? We haven’t been able to find plans for Hume online.

@gatormomma thank you so much for that. I hope Beaty lasts till tuesday :/

Can somebody tell me how many spaces are left for Lakeside? for guys

plasticjungle, how was parking at Springs? I need a new car but if parking is horrendous I’ll have to hold off. I’d really only keep my car at the dorms because I’d rather walk to class.

lr2010, there’s over 15 openings in Lakeside still.

Thanks PercussorNoctis, I need that or Springs. :P
