UF Fall 2013 TRANSFER

Know they are completely disregarding July 15 as the last day they said they would notify students. I was just told today over the phone Friday will be the earliest they will have a decision.

I’m sorry kazzak. :frowning: That’s ****ty. I hope that at least after all this waiting you get a good decision!

Can’t believe anyone would wait this long unless it was their last resort/only option. You guys are crazy! I wish you the best of luck.

Well for me it kinda was my only option, but definitely not my last resort. I could have gotten into UNF with a 2.0 and an AA, but I want to study Agriculture and there’s nowhere else for me to do that. So, in my case UNF was my last resort. I could have chosen almost any major there with just an AA, but I had to take specific classes for my major at UF. Transfer students are different than freshman. I, personally, am non traditional and have to balance school with adult responsibility, so I can’t just up and move somewhere to study what I want. I was a horrible student in HS. I had to go to summer school every year and graduated in summer school. I had a 1.9 at graduation, no foreign language and my highest math was pre-algebra (graduation requirements were a lot different then). So, yea I am damn proud that I got in to UF.

Yeah, you should be proud. Tough school to get in to. UF was my only option for my major, as well, and it’s wonderful when things just work out.

Ok…my apologies if it I sounded harsh. Your first post made it sound like we were desperate or something. I have already found out, but I didn’t find out that long ago, so I did wait 6 months for a decision.

I thought maybe I’d post this in a few different places.

If you’re registered for July 26 Transfer Preview and want to drop it and switch to a later date, please PM me first.

I can’t make it for the full day on August 20, but I can for July 26, however it’s all full now. I’m waiting to see if anyone drops it so I can register for July 26.

I may have to work something out if I am for sure going to the August 20 preview date.

Thanks.

I applied to the Fisher School of Accounting for the Spring 2014 term. My current overall GPA is a 3.85 from a Florida CC. In terms of Pre-Requisites I have completed all about the last two (Managerial Accounting and Micro Economics), which I intend on completing in the fall semester. I have gotten all A’s in my Pre-Prof courses.
My Application Status says:
“Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Spring 2014 term has been received and is being evaluated. Once your grade point average is calculated and your eligibility is confirmed, your application will be sent to your college for a final decision”
After reading the posts I’m a little worried. I just hope that I get accepted, soon!

Hello everyone, applying to a new school is always stressful especially when it takes awhile to hear back on an admission decision. I applied for Fall 2013 into the online Criminolgy and Law program. I have just recently received my AA degree this past May. I graduated with high honors and an overall 4.0 GPA for all college courses. I was also in two honor societies , and I am very involved with my church and babysitting.

Congratulations to all who have been accepted! It is such an honor and a blessing to be accepted into such a wonderful school! For those who didn’t get accepted don’t fret, everything happens for a reason and God has a plan for you.

Does anybody have Bright Futures and know where we find out if UF has received that info? Is it on ISIS? I’ve clicked on financial aid links on ISIS and it doesn’t show me having Bright Futures listed anywhere so I was wondering if I needed to contact BF or if it’s like that for everyone.

Also, are we able to see how much our tuition costs this semester with the classes we signed up for or can you not view that info yet?

Flor1dagator7,

you need to go onto the website for bright futures and update your school information for this year. Once that is done your information should pop up on ISIS within a few days.

Thanks UFKitten. I updated the Bright Futures institution awhile back, and it says UF is my current institution, but I don’t see it on ISIS. What link under ISIS should it show up?

Look under financial aid on Isis, it would be listed under financial aid awards

I had to call FA. They said I was listed as a non-Florida resident for some reason. They sorted it out. Thanks for the help

Anyone enter and win the football ticket lottery?

Flor1dagator7, yeah I entered the lottery a few minutes after it closed (didn’t realize!) that day. When they announced the winners, somehow I had won. Even though I have zero UF credit hours (I am a transfer student starting Fall 2013) (I read online that students with most amount of credit hours, like seniors, have highest chance, followed by juniors, sophomores, than freshman). This makes sense because then seniors, who are about to graduate, will most likely want to attend their last few Gator football games.

Still shocked that I had won, but I think there are maaaaaaaaaany winners, so I don’t think I got “lucky” by any means.

Yeah I don’t think very many people lost. But they did sell out this year, unlike last year. So not everybody got tickets.

I must be one of the losers. I didn’t get an email or anything. When did you get notified?

I won, and got an email on July 25th saying so. I also have 0 UF credits, so I guess I got lucky, as well.

I didn’t even bother because I didn’t think I had a chance! Wish I had now!
