UF GPA

My son is a junior at a College prep High School, his weighted GPA is 4.6, unweighted 4.1, this is for core academic classes only. He has one Duel enrollment class , it is an elective , it is Honors Business Entrepreneurship , my question is will they count this class into their core GPA, considering it is an educational duel enrollment even though is is not considered a core educational class. His school does add a little more weight to the GPA for its tough reputation as a College prep School, will UF consider the same and add the weight? In addition to the .5 for honors classes and 1.0 for the AP classes.

I am by no way authorized to answer this as I don’t know completely. My guess is that they will not add more weight, however, they will take his gpa and compare it to other students form his school.

Thank you for your input! I’m wondering if they will include his Duel enrollment to his GPA , it is an elective but it is a Honors Business Entrepreneurship class, hopefully they will, that would boost his GPA if they would consider! Does anyone know if UF likes to see more then 20 educational classes on a transcript?

I would think UF would count it as a DE class (and give it the same weight as an AP/IB/AICE class).

UF will not add more weight to his GPA, based on the school. HOWEVER, it does consider course rigor. Someone with a 4.0 GPA but low rigor, may not compare as well as a 3.7 GPA with higher rigor. So, think of it as “GPA+RIGOR”.

Good Luck!
