Hey everyone! I’m an upcoming transfer student to UF for spring 2018 and I’m looking for some off campus apartments. I heard that Social28 and The Standard is good. However, I’ve made some phone calls and been hearing that most apartments in Gainesville or near UF do not sign leases in the spring. Which is a huge problem since I need a place to stay. Do any of you guys know if this is true? Is it better to go to the apartment place myself and talk to them? How early should I do this? Also, if you guys know any update on Preview, feel free to post.
I know just the guy to answer this. @gatorwithdreams
Tons of off campus housing at UF is done by private renters. There was also recently the addition of a couple new luxury apartment complexes, and as far as I know, they are still have plenty of room. They are practically on campus, as you only have to cross one road to get there. If I were you however, I would look into finding roommates to rent a house with as soon as possible. You can find plenty of ads for roommates to replace ones that move out. The UF main campus is surrounded on all sides by residential areas and there is never a shortage of housing. I wish you luck!
@gatorwithdreams thanks! I’ll look into it!
@Iamsam1 Can I just ask what your stats were when you applied and what major you applied as? I’m a prospective transfer student and wanted to know more about the process!
Can you join one of the FB groups and look for subleases for the spring?
