Hello everyone! I’m currently a senior in HS and in the next few weeks I’m planning to apply to UF’s CLAS! Unfortunately, I didn’t apply to UF as a freshman before the deadline, but thankfully I can apply as a transfer student since I’m going to graduate with 62 college credits. I’m planning to major in Biology (BS) and I already completed most of the requirements for the program: I took MAC 2233 (got an A), BSC2010 w/ lab (got a B) and BSC 2011 w/ lab (got an A). I’m planning to complete CHM 2045 w/ lab next semester and CHM 2046 w/ lab over the summer. What worries me is my GPA; the minimum overall GPA for the program is a 2.8, and mine is currently a 3.1 GPA; the average GPA for the required courses I listed above has to be at least a 3.0, and right now it’s a 3.6 (not including the two chem classes that I’ll be taking soon). I’m also a part of the NHS program at my school, volunteer weekly at a nearby hospital and I have a part time job. I’m just worried because I know this is an extremely competitive program to get into, so what are my chances? What should I do to help get my application to be as good as it possibly could be?
ALSO! If anyone has gotten into UF as a transfer student w/ a Biology (BS) major, can you please drop your stats below? I want to know what type of GPA I’ll have to have to be considered as a student in good standing?
